Thom Yorke's "The Eraser" due 11 July [Radiohead related]

More info has been released on Radiohead's forthcoming album and as auto said below: no album this year.

Thom Yorke, however, is releasing an album he made with Nigel Godrich entitled "The Eraser"

Track list is:
01 the eraser
02 analyse
03 the clock
04 black swan
05 skip divided
06 atoms for peace
07 and it rained all night
08 harrowdown hill
09 cymbal rush

"Black Swan" will reportedly be played over the closing credits of Richard Linklater's film "A Scanner Darkly".

Old bit pre-The Eraser news:

i'm beginning to get really psyched for this new album.

the main thing that has gotten me psyched? this!!!

i'll update this post as more info comes out.

It won't be out this year so this may be a bit premature. It would be good to have a tour discussion thread.

And yes, that clip is awesome.

Why won't it be out this year? They've spent months in the studio and now they're setting up a small but sizeable tour schedule, like they did immediately before Hail to the Thief. Seems like prep for a release to me! Do you have some info i don't know?! (I'm just trying not to believe your statement!)

I've heard they are not actually with a record label now as they finished their old contract with the last album.

More tour talk

Arpeggi, Bangers N' Mash and Nude are all great songs.

Radiohead is without a doubt my favorite band ever.

Okay, I give up. A recent press release noted that the new radiohead album won't be out this year...

BUT a Thom Yorke "solo" (he doesn't want the word used) album will be out on July 11th. Check here!

For that reason, I petition the mods to change this thread title to:

Thom Yorke's "The Eraser" due 11 July 2006

radiohead lite.. too drunk, and too crowded to really get a good listen, but it was like a more mellow hail to the thief.

Great album! At first listen, i didnt like it all that much. But, like most Radiohead albums, its a grower. Now after a few weeks, I can't stop listening to it.

Release day bump!

I'm picking this up tonight at either Best Buy or Circuit City---both have it for $9.99.
Any other thoughts or reviews from those who have it already?

I picked it up today at Tower Records.

As you can see by my s/n, I'm a big Radiohead fan. This album is miles better than Hail to the Thief (which was the worst RH album since their debut). "Harrowdown Hill", "The Eraser" and "Black Swan" are the highlights for me. "Cymbal Rush" is ok, I didn't really like it in the live shows but it's gotten better.

Hmm...Only once through and I'm not digging it as much as regular Radiohead stuff. Some decent tracks, but nothing to me that really stands out.

I'm not blown away so far, but then it took me awhile to get into kid a and amnesiac, and kid a is now one of my favorite albums.

Analyze is sooooo beautiful, it's the track I keep returning to. I'm sure the rest will grow on me over time.

I'm a huge Radiohead fan but this one is definitley a thumbs down for me. It just feels like all the songs meander and go nowhere. Hopefully it will grow on me though.

Not much of a post-Amnesiac Radiohead fan, and this follows the trend. It's decent, but does meander and most of the songs fail to actually come to any sort of interesting climax. "Harrowdown Hill" is pretty good and probably the one track that genuinely stands out, IMO.

I thought "Black Swan" was the first single.
I might be wrong , but I know it's at least on the soundtrack for A Scanner Darkly.

Like others, I didn't really hear anything that stood out the first time through. I hope it grows on me.
