from Billboard:

"Matthew Sweet's 1991 breakthrough album, "Girlfriend," will be reissued in an expanded edition June 13 via Volcano/Legacy. The new version boasts a second disc dubbed "Goodfriend," featuring demos, live tracks and radio sessions from the era.

Among them are acoustic takes on album opener "Divine Intervention," "Winona" and John Lennon's "Isolation," a 1992 BBC session version of the title cut and "Someone To Pull the Trigger" and live renditions of "Thought I Knew You," "Does She Talk" and Neil Young's "Cortez the Killer." The studio album is appended with demos for "Good Friend," "Teenage Female" and "Superdeformed" originally released on the Japanese version of the set."

May 16 - Dan Zanes and Friends - Catch That Train!

And that "Girlfriend" rerelease sounds great. I'm sure I've got some of that 2nd disc stuff, but some of it must be new to me.

What a weird month this has been. I bought a ton of albums on the 9th and only a couple on the 16th. Last week, The Walkmen's album was released, which I'll get my hands on at some point, but I'm not in a hurry. And this week absolutely nothing seems to have my interest. *shrug* Weird.

June looks to continue the summer drought. Only the new Paper Chase and Hot Chip catch my eye. Psapp could potentially be the next "big thing" for trendy indie kids, but I don't see the big deal personally.
