Whaddaya know?!? Proof shot first! LOL. HOLY Han Solo and Greedo, Batman!

GeoffK 04-13-06 12:16 AM

Ugh. I stand corrected on how well spoken he was... given that he shot first.

zombiezilla 04-13-06 06:24 AM

I would feel vindicated if this whole "dead rapper" situation weren't so sickening. Just because the info given by police show my assertions to be correct, it's a sad world where consumers idolize persons of Proof's ilk.

No victory dance.

what does one thing have to do with another? Got shot at = well spoken/ upstanding citizen... Shot someone = scumbag/uneducated...

Not sure the two have a direct correlation

PJsig08 04-13-06 02:34 PM

I agree 100%, strange comment from kleinman.

zombiezilla 04-13-06 05:01 PM

Perhaps he meant that if Proof were as articulate as some have stated, he'd have negotiated his way through this dispute rather than "pull a piece on a brotha and bus' a cap inniz ass".

zombiezilla 04-13-06 10:31 PM

Wow. The silence from the peanut gallery is now deafening.

ShallowHal 04-14-06 06:57 AM

I heard on the radio yesterday that when he was shot he was standing over the guy that he had just pistol whipped, with his weapon ready. I haven't seen that in any of the articles, though. I'm sure more details will come out, but this does not sound like a good situation for anyone there.

:(

The Infidel 04-14-06 11:19 AM

Not to assume to answer for Geoff, but I understood his comment as meaning someone you would consider "well-spoken" usually doesn't speak with a gun...

..unless you're Rambo, Braddock or John McClane.

except geoff had met him and from that experience, he was well spoken

The Infidel 04-14-06 11:52 AM

Exactly. And Geoff was therefore surprised that this person he had met and was impressed with had chosen to let a gun do the talking in this situation...hence his statement.

Feel free to agree with or correct me at any time, Geoff. ;)

I know that this is an internet forum, and free speech does not apply in places like this, but deleting zombiezilla's remarks simply because you don't like them...now that sucks.

I guess I'm saying that because I agreed with most of them - but that comes from having a darker shade of skin, having those rap/gangsta assumptions projected onto me (and I HATE it) and knowing that those guys project a lifestyle that is nothing but destructive and degrading - and that a lot of young people idolize and kill for - makes me a little bitter about these sorts of things.

I guess this will be deleted soon...after all the hateful remarks are thrown my way first.

It is his forum. He can do what he wants.

zombiezilla 04-15-06 01:49 AM

You must be right, since no one can even read my opinion anymore, LOL...

I Am Not An Animal, I Am A Man!!!

MANBREASTS 04-16-06 10:13 AM

I have a few thoughts I'd like to post, First I wonder if D12 will get a new member and go on without him, and I wonder if Everlast or Benzino will use this as a chance to make a song about eminem since his marriage fell apart again and he lost his best friend in less then a month.

movieking 04-16-06 01:46 PM

So according to an article I read, the argument was over a game of pool? That can't be right, can it?

From the accounts I've read that is indeed the case.

Man allegedly shot by Proof dies

DETROIT (AP) — A man who police say was shot by rapper Proof, just before Proof himself was killed, died of his wounds early Tuesday, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Keith Bender had been in critical condition since being shot in the head a week ago at the CCC, a nightclub on Eight Mile Road, the boundary between Detroit and the northern suburbs.

Bender, 35, died early Tuesday, said Wende Berry, a spokeswoman for St. John Hospital and Medical Center.

Police have said witnesses told them that Proof, a hip-hop artist and friend of Eminem, shot Bender during a dispute at the after-hours club. Bender’s cousin, Mario Etheridge, then shot and killed Proof, whose real name was Deshaun Holton, they said.

Etheridge, 28, has pleaded not guilty to charges of carrying a concealed weapon and discharge of a firearm in a building. His attorney, Randall Upshaw, said the shooting was in self-defense.

Proof, 32, was a member of the rap group D12 and was the best man in Eminem’s January wedding. His funeral is scheduled for Wednesday.

cdollaz 04-18-06 12:49 PM

So he's a murderer...but a well spoken one at least.

zombiezilla 04-18-06 04:19 PM

My, yes, he's a particularly well-spoken gentleman, who only with the utmost gentle touch "slaps his bitches and ho's around", before loading his weapon, so that he might, ahem, "put one through your brain-pan, MOFO!"

zombiezilla 04-18-06 04:19 PM

Beware, cdollaz, don't piss off the "man behind the curtain"!

zombiezilla 04-19-06 07:23 PM

WOWEEE! 2,119 views of this thread! I wonder what was so goddamned interesting as to command triple the typical views in a thread? Maybe dead gangstas ARE more populah! (And let's not forget more articulate, too)

How much does useless bandwidth cost? Is it worth it to advertisers? Hmmmm, let me see.....

zombiezilla 04-20-06 08:03 PM

Well, now Proof's victim has died. Just think how cool (not to mention articulate) Proof would be, had he lived!

Rogue588 04-20-06 08:07 PM

Now that both potential perps are deceased, perhaps it might be time to let this thread :rip: too?
