New Queen album "Stone Cold Classics"??

Anybody hear about this, from www.musictap.com;

"Hollywood Records will have a few titles in stores on specific street date that will include an as-yet-untitled project from Jesse McCartney (August 8); Breaking Benjamin (July 25), as well as a Limited Edition of A.I. from Queen (April 11)."

Scroll down at that web site and it also shows the album cover.

What the hell is "A.I."?

BTW, the new US tour began on Friday, not much new in the set list other than adding "Dragon Attack" plus a new song written by Rodgers (forget the title of it.)

Maybe it's the long awaited, often spoke of but never forthcoming "rarities" album...but if so, the title makes no sense.

Surely, they didn't record a new album with Paul Rodgers. I like them both separately but I think they are an abomination together.

No idea. Queen's official forum have gone as far as banning ANY thread talking about it so there's just nothing concrete on what the hell it is.

I'm sure it'll suck though.

Ironically, this is coming from the guy praising the Killer Queen tribute CD.

Far be it from me to actually applaud a Queen product that dares to give us something different for a change as opposed to yet another compilation.

That original "AI" album title makes sense now, there WILL be a Queen theme night on "American Idol" April 11th/12th(!) Note the 11th is the same day the CD is to be released......

Yet you gave the musical We Will Rock You tons of shit, without even seeing it.

See, that's being called hypocritical.

Now my memory may not be what it used to be but as I recall, I didn't give the musical itself "tons of shit" but I believe our disagreement came over how well it would attract younger fans to the band. I could be wrong but I'm too lazy to search for the threads.

Releasing a whole re-tread album just to capitalize on one 60-minute TV show (which will feature poor renditions of their songs, no less?!?).... I'm sure Freddie would love this (and I'm being sarcastic). Queen are one of my top 4 or 5 favorite groups of all time, but this needs to end. They've become an abomination.

Maybe they could call themselves HalfQueen ....or NotQueen....or King.

I do agree with you but if one were to look at it from a purely promotional angle, some 30 million people watch that show and having an entire episode (plus the following night's elimination) devoted to Queen music, it will expose their music to a whole lot of young people and may very well be the single biggest Queen promotional event in American history. If major stores like Best Buy follow it up by prominently displaying the new CD, I have no doubt it will be Queen's biggest Billboard debut in years.

So this whole shebang has it's positives and negatives.
