Cracker
Pretty funny email they sent to the mailing list.
Cracker's Greatest Hits Redux is in stores now!
Q: What does Cracker do when their former record label decides
to put out another Greatest Hits compilation?
A: Well they re-record their own greatest hits and put it out
on the same day.
Obvious, right? Buy the Cracker sanctioned Greatest Hits Redux,
because you already have all the other recordings and, while
similar, the Cracker sanctioned disc has the longer "live"
variations on all your favorite songs. PLUS it has a new track.
So, get on with it, who wants empty chairs?
Get the one with Kenny on the accordion.
If you want the original recordings - get Garage d'Or, it has
a bonus disc.

Greatest Hits Redux is surprisingly good. A lot of the recordings actually are better than the originals...rawer, more "live" and more energetic. I'd recommend it.

I thought it was great that they did this, I wish more bands would be vocal when ex-record companies release stuff without the bands consent. I'll pick up redux just to give them some more support.

Pick up "Oh Cracker, Where Art Thou?". It's a collaboration w/ Leftover Salmon. Very Good, indeed.
I also noticed that there was a dvd released yesterday. Anybody pick it up yet?

Classic move by a great band.
My brother loves them and goes to a lot of their shows (he lives in Richmond). I'll pass the news onto him, but I'm sure he already has the disc.
