Jack Johnson - Curious George soundtrack
Anyone listen to this yet? I got it when it came out, and let me just say... this cd makes me wish i had a kid. it's actually a good cd in its own right, another good, solid effort from johnson. i can just pop his cds in the cd player (or on my ipod), roll down the windows, and drive for a long time.
anyway, i think it would be a great cd to listen to with a kid. there aren't too many cds out there that both kids and adults can legitimately enjoy. it'd be great to learn about Sharing and how to "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" from this cd.

A solid record overall. The songs are fun and mostly aimed at children. They have the Jack staples and are enjoyable, but I still much prefer straight Jack. The white stripes cover is great and songs like Upside Down, The Sharing Song, Jungle Gym and the Three R's have a great vibe to them and are fun to singalong to.
Sharing these songs with a kid could be easily done, and like the OP said, it is an album that can be enjoyed by both adults and children...that said, I'm not counting this as the official followup to "In Between Dreams" because it is not standard JJ type songs...they sound like JJ but lyrically (obviously) they just aren't there....At least it will tie me over until he gets around to making a new record proper.

havent seen the movie yet, but i picked up this cd on release date, it's addicting, as silly as it is to be driving around singing about the 3 r's, the songs are damn catchy. only song i'm not too fond of is ben harper's track and i usually love his work.

The White Stripes cover is by far my favourite on this disc. The rest of it sounds pretty much like every other Jack Johnson CD. Don't get me wrong I think the guy is great but he can get a little repetative after a while.
