#1 on my list would certainly be Stevie Nicks (of Fleetwood Mac fame). Very distinctive husky voice and her delivery is usually fantastic.

Others to consider
Tori Amos (more for delivery than voice)
Rod Stewart (Not a fave but definitely unique voice)
Barry White (C'mon, everyone knows this voice)
Don Henley (Of the Eagles)

Corrin Tucker of Sleater-Kinney- I guess the best way to describe her vocals would be Grace Slick at a higher pitch singing punk-pop music.

Angela Gossow of Arch Enemy- While not what most would classify as a good vocalist. Gossow has a fiercely intense death-metal growl that makes the vast majority of her male counterparts sound like sleepy mumblers.

And while I personally feel that the majority of her stuff sucks, there is no denying that Yoko Ono is certainly a unique voice.

I also forgot to mention the great (and criminally underrated) Glenn Tilbrook of Squeeze

Serj Tankian from System of a Down.

He was actually the first one that came to mind. I agree with the O.P. the dude from Antony & the Johnsons has a cool voice.

Tom Waits is the epitome of a unique and Distinctive voice. Not to mention hes one of the most brilliant writers and muscians in music ever.
When I think of a unique voice the first person in my mind is Tom Waits.

i would say Mason Jennings might fall into this category. his voice is distinctive, especially on his earlier albums (s/t and Birds Flying Away) - i think maybe he's moved away from it a little on his recent albums.

Stephin Merrit from the Magnetic Fields has a VERY unique voice.

Also Seal and Billy Corgan from Smashing Pumpkins.

3 pages and no mention of

Lane Staley
John Fogerty or
Ozzy Ozbourne???

Especially the first two, who would make ANY rock song better if they sang it
