Yeah Yeah Yeahs: Show Your Bones - 3/28/06
from NME:
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - final album details revealed
NME.COM has the title of the single and the album
Karen O has told NME.COM the new Yeah Yeah Yeahs album will be called 'Show Your Bones'.
Released in the spring, the singer explained the meaning behind the title.
She said: "'Show Your Bones' is what happens when you put your finger in a light socket, we'd like to thank nine-year old antigenius wonder-kid Drake Barrett for the insight and the life-saver, titles are hard to come by the older you get.
"Maybe there is some of that electric current flowing through the tracks of our album illuminating us from the inside out for you to laugh at and cry to or fry to, or not."
A single, 'Gold Lion', is out on March 20, followed by 'Show Your Bones' a week later (March 27).
------------------------
Looking forward to a new album. I had heard that Karen O might just go solo and effectively break up the band ala Stefani. Glad to see they are still together and have new material coming out.
I hope that the popularity of "Maps" doesnt push this band in the wrong direction. Here's hoping that this new album captures the raw energy of their early EPs and doesn't pander to the success of that one song.

SWEET! I've loved all of their stuff. I burned myself out on "Fever To Tell" though I listened to it so much.
"Show Your Bones" will definitely be bought the day it comes out.

I love Fever To Tell, just balls-out great rock, and Karen O's got one of the sexiest voices in the biz. The only song on there I'm not nuts about, of course, is "Maps," which isn't terrible, but certainly a 180-degree turn from everything else on the CD.

If the album turns out to be more like "Maps" than the first EP (I don't care for the 2nd one that much) than we can officially call the Yeah Yeah Yeahs this generation's Pretenders.
At least we still have So So Many Many White Tigers to still be making the rocking YYY's music without the YYY's.

From the few tracks I've heard so far this is a different type of Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Dare we say more commercial. Seriously, I like the few tracks I've heard but they also make me want to find someone, hold hands and smile as we dance at the sock-hop. Heres hoping that at least a few of other 8 or 9 have the same sort of balls that were present in Art Star or Date with the Night. W.

Ok, so it leaked. From first listen it is pretty amazing.
There is a song called Phenomena (track4) that is just striking and exciting. My expectations were pretty high and it really seems as though it has delivered and will have some staying power. The last three or four tracks are pretty low key but very catchy. I didn't hear anything I didn't like.
As far as true YYYs moments, just look forward towards the last 30 seconds of 'Mysteries.' W.
