My official ruling on this question:

For instance, it would seem like cheating to me if someone tried to take another edition of the Beatles boxset that I took. However, if someone wanted a collection of the Beatles Anthology cds that were released individually, I think that is fair game.
^^ What he said! ^^

Thanks. There's plenty of that to go around. I hate DJLinus & jimdrix for stealing my 2 best boxset possibilities.

Quality picks by the way.

I didn't realize you weren't playing auto. Did you not want to? Or was it feeling obligated not to since you're running the game? If it's the latter, you should join in. I don't think anyone would have a problem with the organizer participating in the tournament. It's not like there'd be any way for you to cheat or anything.

I hadn't planned on playing. In order to moderate a game like this, I think it is unwise to also participate. For instance, even though the match-ups in the voting rounds will be random, it may seem unfair to some if I am playing. What does everybody else think?

That being the case, if we get one more player (bringing the field up to 31), and nobody else wants to play, I may throw my hat in the ring just to fill the field.

I am torn auto. This is very fun and I think you will enjoy it. But on the other hand I don't want you taking anything I would...

This is fun, I hope I get my pick for the next round.

We should do a music draft to see who can pick the worst lineup. Milli Vanilli, Vanilla Ice, etc.

i'm in agreement with you, but if you changed your mind it probably wouldn't hurt.

Well, if people are worried about that, I suppose you could always wait until everyone had picked their 10 selections and only pick your 10 out of what's left. In that scenario, I can't see anyone thinking you'd be at an 'advantage' no matter how you did the match-ups.

Or, if you just wanted to play normally, we could always enlist the help of someone who's not playing to randomly number all of our usernames from 1-32. I'm guessing someone in Otterville would be happy do it.

I don't think that would be very much fun.

We'll see. I think I'll wait until this round is over and if we don't have two more players, I'll throw my hat in the ring. If I do, you'll just have to trust me. I wouldn't go through all the work of running the draft just to cheat myself to a victory.
