Massive Attack - Mezzanine

I almost picked that around round 4, but then decided I wanted to go for a theme in my choices and Carole King didn't fit.

Is it just me or is this round just full of awesome picks?

Yep. :) If you like Mezzanine, check out Blue Lines as well. Hard to say which is the better album, but Blue Lines has the mind-blowing one-two punch of "Unfinished Sympathy" (one of my favorite songs of all time) followed immediately by "Daydreaming", another killer track. Oh, and the opening track "Safe from Harm" is also spectacular.

2 of the first 3 tracks of Mezzanine are Angel and Teardrops, 2 songs I had heard a bunch of times but had no idea the artist/album, and I was sold.
Blue Lines was, uh, acquired last night. :)

As a music copyright lawyer, I'll just assume you mean acquired at Best Buy or somesuch. ;)

Blue Lines is much, much better than Mezzanine. BTW, those interesting in "acquiring" Massive Attack music should "acquire" the Pefecto/Oakenfold remix of Unfinished Symphony.

Genius/GZA - Liquid Swords

(IMO one of the best albums, period).

It's probably a bit too early to make predictions, but I think cleaver's collection is the most well-rounded and most well-known. I can easily see him go all the way or get made fun of for having two greatest hits albums. :)

but trying to win by well known artists seems a tad like a crutch. I like illennium's list.
