I've listened to most of Apologies to the Queen Mary before and it just reminded me of Modest Mouse, a band I really dislike.

However, I like these two new songs quite a bit, and I love Sunset Rubdown (didn't know they shared singers!), so I'm pretty excited for this.

Spencer is a mad genius & ridiculously prolific, one of the most underrated talents in modern music. I dig Handsome Furs & vocally like them better, but musically Spencer is definitely where its at. I'm just really diggin' that they are trying something new with this new album & his approach of him stating he wants to make an album that you can "shake your booty to".

Spencer, Mad genius? Probably...but I still like Dan better because his guitars and vocals seem more down to earth. When I first heard Wolf Parade, Spencer's songs were the only ones I really liked. Dan's stuff seemed too normal and when compared to Spencer's unique voice, he got overshadowed.

Then I saw them on Furguson's late show doing This Heart's On Fire, and Dan just came across as really passionate and intense. Once I found out more about who brought what to the group, Dan's stuff just started to become more intense in it's simplicity. I honestly can't even listen to much of Sunset anymore because of how complex and nutty it all is. At the same time, the handsome furs discs are always on repeat.

Neither compares to Wolf Parade though, mostly because their two unique styles are always in check by the other. But Dan's where it's at. Just check out Nyet Spasiba on the latest Handsome Furs disc, or the guitar solo at the end of Fine Young Cannibals on Mt. Zoomer.

This is all coming from a Springsteen fan, and Dan's feels like Springsteen to me.

Rubdown is without a doubt complex and tough to digest at times - but seeing them live is quite a feat. It's so much noise for such a small group, and they pull it all off without a hitch.

Dan is really intense on stage - that's a truth, even with the Furs he's an intense motherfucker. I guess you kind of have to be with only a guitar and drum machine ;)

Speaking of Krug - what did you guys think of his track as Moonface - Marimba and shit drums?

Sweet Damn "Ghost Pressure" is a great song!

Might finally have an album this year that gives Titus a challenge for my #1 spot.

It currently has cracked my Top 25, but I'm not super excited about it or anything. Will need more listens of course.

Like others, Mount Zoomer just didn't ever grab me like Apologies did. Apologies was easily in my top 5 favorite releases for that year.

Also like others, I really like Ghost Pressure. That's a fucking fantastic song. I am now excited for another WP release!

Pobody's Nerfect is a kick ass song. Better than Ghost Pressure in my opinion.
