Yeah. Its intense. Too bad Ghost had to change The Champ because he couldn't get the Rocky sample clearance. That song was bangin.

Someone mentioned Nas earlier. I will say that his last few albums (god's son, last disciple(I think)) weren't that good. Just remember to get anything that rhymes with ilmatic (illmatic and stillmatic-they're his best)

Glad this thread got resurrected. I'm tired of people saying "rap stopped being good in 1996!"

I'll have to look for that Champ song.

While it's almost forgotten, "...I am" is probably my favorite Nas album. Plenty of strong tracks on it.

The first version of The Champ is absolutely amazing. The retail version is still good (the new verses are great) but the energy from the first version is lacking. I hope everybody supports Ghost on this album on the sales end because, in my opinion, he's one of the few rappers that does whatever he wants to do, says what he wants to say, regardless if it won't make sense to the general public (or really anyone but him) and it still sounds groundbreaking.

Can't wait for Fishscale, but in the meantime I have been listening to Proof's "Searching For Jerry Garcia" which I think was the best album last year.

What do you mean "good"? I think theres alot of good rap that doesnt have a negative influence, if thats what you mean check out Jammxkids they don't sing about any killing, drugs, sexual reference... etc, www.jammx.com

Well then the jammx kids prob fit that category depending on what U are looking for. I think they are pretty good, i'd say its like a mix of pop music and stuff like lil bow wow.
