Staind - Chapter V (08/09/05)
Anyone pick this up today? Planning to later on today or tomorrow. $10 at both BB and CC. Should be decent.

Great album. It's Staind's most balanced and best work to date. While they've written better individual songs in the past, I think this is their best album as a whole. There's not a weak track to be found. They've got a good mix of heavy songs and light songs that really show their strengths musically and lyrically. "Please" is easily my favorite, but I love "King of All Excuses" because it's nice to hear Aaron letting loose some screaming yet again.

Just got it today. First listen, though, I like it. While I enjoy the harder stuff from the 2 albums, I'm really digging the more mellow road that they are taking. Aaron has got a great voice.

What's funny is that song sounds as good as all their songs, and gets the same presentation.
I'm not threadcrapping, I like the band, but all their songs do sound the same to me. Their last cd, man it stunk, might have to give this one a try.

14 Shades of Grey wasn't their best effort, but I thought it was a good album overall. I listened to the new one today and wasn't too impressed. Didn't sound like there were any breakthrough songs on it.
