That trailer really reminds me how much I love this band...4 years since By The Way? Holy shit. Anyhow, the cover art is just alright, but I'm sure the contents will be awesome...haven't been keeping current with this thread, had NO idea this was going to be a double album...knew it was coming out, but 25 songs! HELL YES. I really was digging the snippit of the new track and think it sounds like some classic RHCP shit.

I'm going to see them FOR SURE if/when they come around. I've seen them once before and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen.

I hope it's actually 2 CDs worth of good music, and not essentially 1 album worth of good material and another album worth off filler that should have stayed b-sides like a lot of double albums.

Not really a fan of "gimmick" videos...some of it was funny, but videos like this have very little replay value... I guess I just like seeing the Chili's be the Chili's... Love the track though, now hearing it in it's entirety, I definitely think they've got their A game on for this record...

So far I've listened to the first 11 tracks of Disc 1. LOVE It. Totally redeems the band for me, as I hated "By The Way" save about 2 songs. I can't wait to pick it up next week.

What type of stuff is it. Is it back to the Mothers Milk/BSSM-type stuff or more like Californication?

I'm glad I listened to those before I bought the album.

Ugh!, what a snoozefest. By The Way rocks more than this. More of the same boring, mid-tempo, ballad stuff. Only about 5-6 songs really rock. Damn, at least have one of the 2 cd's be all rocking.

I wasn't fan of "By the Way", but I'll be getting this on release day. Dani California was a great first single.

By The Way can't touch this album. I'd easily put it up with BSSM.

Did you only listen to 30 second clips? Because 30 sec do not well represent any of these songs. I would say about 60 percent are very rocking. They tend to have a slower mid section or opening, but otherwise rock hard. John rocks out much harder than he did on By the Way. That makes SA worth it alone.

I mean really 30 sec clips stink, they usually sound nothing like the song, and are completely out of context.

Personally I am loving the album. Immeadiate favorites are Made You Feel Better, Animal Bar, If, Charlie, and Stadium Arcadium. But honestly, and surprisingly, not a wasted track. It has a great flow, and I think I perfer the Mars CD.

As of right now I will say it's my number 2 RHCP album following BSSM. We shall see how time treats it.

exactly. Frusciante's work on this is great. I'm liking Tell Me Baby, Snow, 21st Century. The live version of Desecration Smile was better. Its a nice blend of all their styles, just listen to Tell Me Baby.
