Cowboy Troy
I'm listening to the radio yesterday (Steve Dahl on WCKG/Chicago), and he starts talking about watching country music videos on CMT. He mentions a dude name Cowboy Troy, who does a weird mix of country and hip-hop - a tune called I Played Chicken With A Train.
I can't really say I completely love it or hate it - as a pseudo novelty kind of thing it is initially entertaining. The thing is I can't get this song out of my head. Curse you, Cowboy Troy!
You can check out the video at the Cowboy Troy site.
I'd be curious to hear the opinions of the rest of you on this strange hybrid/marketing concept.

First time I heard of him was when he performed with them at I think it was the NBA All Star game. Can't say I loved him, but it was entertaining. Country and Basketball don't really go together, though. On the other hand neither do country and Hip-Hop. I remember other Hip Hop groups trying to add country flavor. Nappy Roots, and another older group, forget the name but in the music video it was their weirdest thing i'd seen at the time.
