Finally. Release date for Team Sleep's debut disc...
The Deftones' Chino Moreno has talked about his Team Sleep project for more than five years now — and even got a song by the group on the soundtrack for "The Matrix: Reloaded" in 2003 — but the project is finally going to awake fully on May 10, when Team Sleep's self-titled debut album will be released. "The best part about it is having completion of something you've been working on, and having it done right," Moreno said in a statement. "It's fun, working with different people, everybody works differently. When I have time off from music, I want to make other music. That's what I do, that's what's fun, that's what makes me happy." ...
Amazon also confirms May 10 as the release date.
I can't wait for this.

Just a bump back up for a few things.
There is a song called "Ever" to download on the site: http://www.team-sleep.com/audio/team...sleep.com).mp3
Also, they've announced a few tour dates. http://www.team-sleep.com/tour.htm
Phoenix is on there.

Looks like Chino has put on some weight in this pic.

I listened to the album, didn't really do anything for me...it is quite mellow, it's like the slow deftones stuff on a whole album..some of the drum beats are pretty cool, but I don't remember anything from it after listening to it. There's a song on there that has the be quiet/minerva feel...I dunno, I like chino's voice against heavy guitar more...maybe if the music was a bit more active, had more things going on, doesn't seem like too much effort was put into the making of this album.

I have listened to the leak. Not sure if it's gonna be the final product but it's crap. Nothing spectacular or memorable or even good enough for me to listen a second time. I agree with the poster that it seems that the musicians/songwriters phoned in their performance on this album.
2/10.

I think it's pretty good. Very mellow, nice and unique. Now I have something to tide me over until the Deftones CD...please oh please let it be soon...
after further listening, I like the mood of the disc, but they can take that song with the chick singing and piss off with it, because it's so horrid...the first three cuts on the album are very solid, the last 3 are solid too...a tad "unfinished" sounding in the middle. Maybe it's just me with my new car stereo (alpine 9855), but the mix on one or two tracks seems real off - perhaps I haven't mastered my EQ on the new radio yet (I haven't...talk about burying controls in menus that aren't marked...and I'm a techie that usually doesn't need manuals for anything), or the mix was on purpose, which sucks...
I kinda wish they'd have stuck with a bit of the concepts they put forth on the album that leaked last year that is basically gone...it had a bit more direction, even if less polished. But I'm enjoying the CD none-the-less...

I got to see them in concert last night. Great show.
Other than the crap that opened for them, it was solid. Chino vocals are fantastic. You could really hear them much more prominently since he didn't have the same type of band behind him. The drummer (I think it's Todd something) is very good. Some fantastic drumwork towards the end of the night when he had a 5 minute solo. It was also interesting to hear Crook. Much more noticeable than stuff that Frank Delgado does w/ the Deftones.

I have not picked it up yet, have not had the chance to get to the store, but I have listened to it online and I love it. I love Chino doing mellow stuff, and the thought of a new Deftones out later this as well is so awesome.

Just saw these guys last night. It was packed. It seemed like a lot of people were there because it said "Featuring Chino of the Deftones" and didn't know what to expect. I thought the show was decent. Sounded a lot like the cd. Chino does look like he has lost a little weight from touring, but still a bit chubby.

Just wanted to bump this up as I have not been able to take this out of rotation. This is my favorite album of the last 5 years and in my all time top 10. Any word if they are going to do another album anytime soon? I know the new Deftones is out in September so I assume nothing new from Teamsleep till next year.
