(ICE magazine's website)

it seems that they only release weekly info/street date on a week-to-week basis.

I was thinking ICE, but thought it was subscription only. Guess it's been a few years since I checked their site.

It is subscription only, that's why I think they only release the weekly notices a week in advance; whereas for those who have a subscription they have the privilledge of seeing a preliminary list a whole month beforehand.

Check.

I read the list via magazine a few days ago at Borders.

Guess I'll throw my .02 in on the stuff I've listened to so far:

Doves "Some Cities"
Like it. Maybe less ambitious than their last but might be more accessible.

Regina Spektor "Soviet Kitsch"
A little too gimmicky for my taste. Every time I think about it, I listen to Nellie McKay instead.

Kaiser Chiefs "Employment"
As stated in the other thread, a few good singles but the 2nd half really drags. Good live show though.

Beck "Guero"
Agree with most reviews that say it's a retread of his greatest hits. Still good summer music.

Hot Hot Heat "Elevator"
More good summer music. Pretty irresistable, even though Goodnight Goodnight is already annoying to me.

Kasabian
Loved them when they were called the Stone Roses. Couple of decent songs, but the reprise of Reason is Treason is lame. Who do they think they are, Republica?

The Bravery
My least favorite of the new New Wave bands. First single is pretty good.

Bloc Party Silent Alarm
Awesome. Total awesomeness.

Decemberists Picaresque
A little too precious/pretentious for my taste. I don't think I have room in my life for Arcade Fire AND The Decemberists.

I didn't see Louis XIV - Best Little Secrets Are Kept mentioned here, that is a really fun record. It has at least two candidates for "Lyric of the Year": (slightly dirty)

Spoiler:
Pull your skirt up / A little bit / Pull down your top and show me a little (rhymes with bit)

and

Spoiler:
Milkshake milkshake / I love to feel your sweat / We don't have to go to the pool if you want me to make you (rhymes with sweat)

It's that time of the month when, traditionally, these threads are cut loose to make way for the next pair....
