Britney Spears is now officially a Grammy winner

I also have no idea what U2 meant by "We almost couldn't play tonight or for the rest of the year." Anyone have insight?

Edge's young daughter, Sian, is fighting leukemia, the band was considering cancelling their world tour.

They were in Birmingham last night, too. Before playing "Kingpin," Jeff Tweedy said something to the effect of: "We wrote this song when we were losers. We're winners now. It's all downhill from here. This may even be our last show."

John Stirratt talks a little bit about it in my interview with him. Here's a link if you're interested.

To fans, I don't see why they ever mattered.

To artists, yes they still matter. Winners will get a sales boost, hell I imagine all nominees see some better sales. And it still a huge honor for them to be recognized among their peers.

Lucky Birmingham! Wilco didn't play in Philly for some reason on this most recent tour. Its the only band I'd pay to see. (Well, there might be a few others. )

I don't think whipped is the term I'd use, with its negative conotation. This happened to be the only moment i caught from the Grammies and I'm glad I saw it. It's very sweet the way he worships her. And her attitude is so refreshing. "Me and Jack recorded a record together." Yes, ma'am. We know!

I was very happy to hear about that. I hope this increases their exposure a bit. I can't to see them down in Myrtle Beach this weekend.

I lost any faith I had for the Grammys when Metallica lost to Jethro Tull in '90 for "Best Metal Album".

Anyone else find it strange that the only person not to give a standing ovation to the Southern Rock/Country tribute was Loretta Lynn?

I get all of the hatred for Maroon 5 now. Do they digitally lower the guys voice in the studio or something?

Lisa Marie Presley looked great, from the neck down. I think the chick's face would shatter if she attempted a smile.

I really liked the Across the Universe performance.

Didn't like Queen Latifah at all.

I was hoping that U2 would perform Vertigo. Wasn't that impressed with their performance.

Tim McGraw was involved in three different performances during the night. Probably a record until Oscar night, when Beyonce is rumoured to be involved in four.

I heard that Edge's daughter (Sian) has leukemia, and he's been dealing with that.

Quick question, everytime Maroon5 is brought up it is always in a negative connotation. I saw them probably 1 year and a half ago opening for Matchbox Twenty and really enjoyed them, one of my favorite cds in the past few years. Just curious why the hate? (please be civil)

Not sure why the hate. They're a little to "pop" for my tastes, buy I have nothing against them. Seem a lot more talented than most mainstream crap.

i really like them as well, but i think the hate is because every other song on the radio seems to be a maroon 5 song, and because the singer has a high pitched voice. (hell, i thought "harder to breath" was by justin timberlake with a backup band, before they hit big)
