what was your first ever concert?
i know there are several threads as to most memerable, and most shocking, but what was the very first one you went to?
the first one i went to was at Power Plant Live to see Eve 6 (freebie concert) litterally right up front.
first one i paid for was to see papa roach at the recher. boy that was a rough one, with the music blarring out of the speakers so fucking loud, crazy insane fuckers moshing, and crowd surfing. i got pushed down to the ground during "last resort" since they had started all over the floor, but thankfully, they picked me right up, and got right up to the front of the stage to yell as loud as i could the pre chorus "cut myself into pieces, this my last resort, suffication no breathing, don't give a fuck if i cut my arm bleeding

Ah yes: Twisted Sister, who opened for Iron Maiden. I went mainly to see Twisted Sister but MAN was that guy an ahole, yelling at the crowd, turning on the houselights and yelling some more. He was one, er, Twisted Sister...

This is a good, funny thread. Makes you think of how your musical tastes change over the years.
My first concert was October 23 (I think), 1984 - Sunrise Musical Theatre in Sunrise, FL...
Cyndi Lauper .. the Bangles opened. They were virtually unknown at that point.

KISS with Motley Crue opening for them at Universal Ampitheater in LA back in '83. It was KISS' "Creatures" tour and we had floor seats that were pretty close to the stage. They only cost $13

Ted Nugent in ~ '85 at the state fair. Nice show, he does some amazing things with the guitar.
First non-state fair shows were Blue Oyster Cult in '86, and Def Leppard in '87, both were also good.

First for me was mid January of 95 (Senior year of HS), saw Helmet in a small club in Ft. Lauderdale. 2 weeks later I saw NIN (Pop Will Eat itself opened) in Orlando. My LAST was tool 2 years ago in Ft. Myers. The sound was horrible, Maynard was an ass (apparently he had a bad show in another Florida city just before, so the entire show he sang with his back to the crowd), and my ears were ringing for days. It was at that point I decided I was getting too old for concerts.

The first concert I ever wanted to see was They Might Be Giants in Athens (with the almost cartoonishly bad Thumb opening) on October 2nd, 1996...freshman year of college. I'd been to concerts before that, but it was always something I'd been dragged to, never anything I wanted to attend. I really didn't start to listen to music (at least, other than using it as background noise) until just before I graduated high school. Before that, the only albums I owned were all Weird Al tapes/CDs and '80s compilations. I quickly made up for lost time, though.

The first concert I remember attending was a 4th of July fireworks show that Richard Marx happened to play at.
The first show I sought out was the Poster Children around the same time ~ 1990.
