I like

The Squirm (or just "Squirm"), though yeah, it may be better as an album title
The Implants

Voted for the Avant Guards.

Of course it all depends on what kind of music you're playing.

Ive got some original suggestions for you:

A Perfect Sphere
Alternica
Jimmy Eat Country
Year of the Bunny
Lincoln Parts
4 Doors Up
Twice
Outerpole
Life Bike to Ugly
Hotplay
The Smashing Dumplings

Seriously, I'd need to know the genre to really decipher. W/o that info, I'll say Verse Chorus Verse.

I'm not sure I have much to add to the things that have already been mentioned, but I don't like any of those names.

It would help a little bit if you explained what type of band you are in, too. Some really good bands have taken their names from their favorite bands' lyrics. Sometimes that works pretty well. Normally simpler, shorter names work better than long strings of words shoved together.

Okay, this is the first time I'm visiting this thread since posting my little poll. I have several thoughts:

I must say I certainly wasn't expecting as many responses as I've gotten so far, so that is a real surprise. I think maybe I shouldn't have listed "I hate every single one of these" as an option and forced every voter to pick one name if they absolutely must, even if they don't like it. Anyone who picks that option really isn't helping me at all and may as well not vote. WE ARE GOING TO BE CALLED ONE OF THESE NAMES. No others.

Reading some of the knee-jerk reactions has been interesting, even from those who may have felt they weren't being too serious when they posted. ALL input has been fascinating. But sometimes it's hard to tell who's being serious or not, who's giving me their honest opinion or just pulling my leg. Masturbating Midgets and Spanky Banana Pants have been two suggestions in this thread, this can't be for real, right? Right??

And lastly, I appreciate each and every one of the comments so far and welcome more. I said this may seriously help with the decision we make for our band's name, and I meant it.

As for what we sound like, something that several people have brought up.....

Interesting conclusion Brain Stew.....if there is one band I'd say we sound most like it would definitely be Nirvana, especially from around the 'In Utero' era. A little dark, but not that dark and at the same time pretty melodic and a little poppy. Kind of a cross between Nirvana and Hatebreed with a bit of Pixies. That's right now, but we all know we definitely want to try different sounds in the near future. Hope this helps everyone, again all of your feedback is much appreciated. I find it especially intriguing that you found this name to remind you most of Nirvana and yet another poster here says it sounds like a comedy band like They Might Be giants.

I thought Verse Chorus Verse sounded like some crappy local pop-punk band that never breaks out of their hometown.

I'm not big on any of those names either - sorry, Riv.

Well the poll looks decisive. Let us know when you get a gig so we can try to see I Hate Everyone of These in person.

I'm reminded of Nirvana because they had a song, "Verse Chorus Verse", albeit a rare one.

We're no longer called Sonic Death Monkey. We're on the verge of becoming Kathleen Turner Overdrive, but just for tonight, we are Barry Jive and his Uptown Five.

Seriously...I would drop the Subtle from Subtle Dissension. Dissension sounds a bit darker or just use Dissent.

How about Intro Verse Chorus Verse Chorus Bridge Verse Chorus Outro

Then you could just call yourselves IVCVCBVCO for short.
