Neil Young - My My, Hey Hey (Into The Black) song
Does anyone know what album has the original studio version? How many minutes is it?
I know the original version has the verse, its better to burn out, than to fade away..., and later versions (live and otherwise) have it, its better to burn out, than it is to rust....
The new Greatest Hits doesn't have the original version (drat!), and it was never on his previous hits collection, Decade. So I have to find the original album that housed it.

The song you mention is originally from the album Rust Never Sleeps. It's actually titled "My My, Hey Hey (Out Of The Blue)" and it contains both lines ("...than to fade away" and "than it is to rust") within the song. The album ends with the song "Hey Hey, My My (Into The Black)" which is essentially an electrified "reprise" of the same song with alternate lyrics.
These songs are done live on this album as well as the versions that appeared on the subsequent "Live Rust" album. Both albums cames out after Decade. I don't have Greatest Hits so I'm not sure what version is on there. I would guess that they would stick the "Rust Never Sleeps" version on there though.

JoeR63's answer is correct, BTW. There technically isn't a 'studio' version of this song, at least by Neil.
