How many MP3 folders ya got goin'?

Been spending a great deal of time converting my discs to MP3.
I make a new folder as I go along for diff styles. I've got 22 right now and will probably add a few more catagories. But sometimes it's hard to figure out where certain artists go. Elvis Costello... new wave, alternative, king of america? Speaking of "King of America"... that is practically Americana to me. Decisions decisions.

I have a classic rock folder for Bowie, VU, Neil Young, CCR, Beatles, etc. But then I came across Rush and Supertramp. No way in hell I want to hear Rush as much as Bowie so I created a folder called "Classucks" (sorry Rush fans... I can only handle so much).

How specific are you with your categories?

1531 Folders, 23.7 gigs of MP4 (which is slightly smaller than MP3's, so it would be more gigs if they were in MP3 format).

1 folder per album (some albums have only 1 song, though, if I buy the song from iTunes, from example).

My problem is that I seldom have time to listen to music anymore, so I may rip 2 CDs in a year to MP3s for my driving around CD. I wish I did have more time to listen to music, but it's just a low priority for me.

I think I have maybe 40-50 CDs/folders of MP3s at best (all from my CD collection).

I use iTunes on my Mac so it is by Artist:

491 Artists
754 Albums
40.66 GB (all ripped at 196k)

I could start playing them and not have a repeat song for 22.3 days. Don't you wish radio stations were like that?

Hmmm, most of you guys have folders for each album. Maybe I'm going about this the wrong way. I have folders for genres. And a .log if I want to hear an album in order.

BTW, I was ripping a Simple Minds album this morning and Freedb assigned the genre as "heroic pop". LOL.

Wow. I just get rid of folders all together, and just have mp3s listed alphabetically by artists. I hate opening folders to get the tracks i want to listen to, so instead I just scroll down and click on the tunes I want to hear.
