Please recommend me some songs!

Here are some of my most-played songs. Please recommend me some songs! As you can see, I like a variety of song genres. The genre doesn't matter, I'm all for the beat

Eminem - Just Lose It
Carole King - Now and Forever
Kid Rock - Only G-d Knows Why
Red Hot Chili Peppers - City of Angels
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication
Three Doors Down - Kryptonite
D12 - My Band
Kid Rock and Cheryl Crow - Picture
Jerry Lee Lewis - Great Balls of Fire
Reba McEntire - She Thinks His Name was John
Mariah Carey - Hero
Reba McEntire - Somebody
Aerosmith - Dream On
Sylvia - Nobody
Jon Bon Jovi - It's My Life
Pink - Don't Let Me Get Me
P.O.D. - Youth of a Nation
Mark McGuinn - Mrs. Steven Rudy
Madonna - This Used to be my Playground

I like Fountains of Wayne and Weakerthans but already have all their songs - my favorite Fountains of Wayne song is "Stacy's Mom" and my favorite Weakerthans song is "Reconstruction Site."

Thanks!

You're supposed to list the good bands like Fountains Of Wayne and Weakerthans first.

Based on those two, I might look into Guster, Gigolo Aunts, and Treble Charger.

For great pop I'd strongly recommend The Corrs. They blend modern pop with traditional Irish. These sites only offer clips of their songs. It's tough to judge just from a 30 second clip, but it might be enough for you to tell whether you'd be into them or not. Their current single is "Angel". A few of my personal faves of theirs are: "I Never Loved You Anyway", "Baby Be Brave", "Runaway" and "When The Stars Go Blue" ( a live duet with Bono of the Ryan Adams song). But I honestly can't say I've ever heard a bad song from them. They are nearly perfect.

a fan site with everything

the official Corrs site of released singles

For rock, I'd recomend Jet. One of the best rock records to come out in recent years. Their current single is "Look What You've Done". My faves are: "Get Me Outta Here", "Are You Gonna Be My Girl", and "Rollover DJ".
Jet

Anberlin, Letterkills, Senses Fail, Autopilot Off, Die Trying, Trapt, Hoobastank, Steriogram, Franz Ferdinand, The Used, Jimmy Eat World.

Eh..those were all mostly harder rock, not all of it though.

But....you like a mixture of things...so what about...Ryan Cabrera, umm.....crap, all I listen to is rock.

I second Jet. At first, I grew tired of their sound because of the Ipod commercials. That commercial seemed to be on every time I turned on the TV.

However, with the release of their latest single, Look What You've Done, I am really liking the CD.

Counting Crows are always a good choice. For a nice sampling, check out their latest release. Its a best of cd with many great songs.

Corrs are a nice band and a little bit of a change from mainstream stuff. I never hear them on the radio here nor on any of the music video channels.

I also have to recommend Jonatha Brooke.

No, there is no n missing from the first name. Its not Jonathan. She is Jonatha. Great singer, and some really good songs.

She isn't played on the radio at all and doesn't have a major studio putting out her cds. She has her own label to do that.

You might have heard her, depending on which tv shows and movies you see.

I know she had a song in the Disney movie, Return to Neverland, called I'll Try.
And I think her song Walking, was in an episode of Dawson's Creek.

Definetly check her out.

Also, add in some Sarah McLachlan to your list.

To give it a different take, throw in some Billie Holiday or Ella Fitzgerald. You can never go wrong with those 2. Beautiful voices.

Hope that helps some.

Ok, tried a few.

A friend of mine had recommended Trapt's Headstrong, and I love it. Trapt is a group I could listen to, but especially Headstrong. I love that song (the same way that I can listen to a lot of Fountains of Wayne but Stacy's Mom gets a lot more play).

Letter Kills, Senses Fail definitely not my thing. All they do (and this is just me) is bang on some drums, make a lot of noise, and yell. No melodic beat whatsoever. So I guess that's what you would call punk rock? Not into that at all.

I'm still trying out the music. Keep the suggestions coming! Thanks!

Do you know what a "beat" is? Judging from your choice of popular downloads, I mean songs, you don't. Choose your words carefully in here, young lady.

For beginners, find "More Peas" by The JB's. More "beats" than most can handle.

Have you heard "Sing for the Moment" by Eminem? It will sound awfully familiar if you like "Dream On."

It's going to take me a while to get through all these.

I'm REALLY getting into Shakira, both her English and Spanish stuff. I also like Avril Lavigne's second album.
