I've had a promo copy of this for awhile. While I enjoyed their first album, I'm still warming up to this one.

It took me awhile to warm up to this one as well, but now I think I may like it even more than the first.

I listened to the first half of Antics this morning. I loved Turn on the Bright Lights but I was almost positive Interpol was going to be one of those sophmore slump bands. So far I have been pleasantly surprised. The songs aren't as dark, the choruses pack more of a punch, but yet it still manages to sound like Interpol.

I forgot they had an album coming out until I read Spin's review over the weekend. Will pick it up tomorrow if I have a slow day at work.

It isn't too bad but it isn't anything to write home about, either. I think "Slow Hands" is the best song on the album (and maybe the 10th track, I've since handed over my promo so I can't remember it very well). Sadly, "Slow Hands" is also the only one that sounds like a Turn on the Bright Lights out-take. I'm not sure how I feel about Banks actually trying to sing.

I'm enjoying it so far; glad they didn't simply re-record TOTBL as I expected they might.

I've only listened to it once so far, but I'm not as blown away as I was when I first heard Turn On The Bright Lights. I may yet warm up to it, but I don't see it becoming one of my favorites for the year.

i found it kinda boring and stale.
i like the first song, but that's about it.

but then again I have always thought this band
has been overrated.

Picked it up last weekend and I like it a lot. It's grown on me after a few listens, much like TOTBL did.

TOTBL was one of my two favorite albums of 2002, the other being Clinic's Walking With Thee.

Interpol's Antics is much better than Clinic's new Winchester Cathedral, which left me incredibly disappointed.

Picked it up before lunch and I have already listened to it twice. It's a little different, which is good, imo.

Rats!!!

Once again, no lyrics or anything decent included in booklet. They just have some shadowy pictures and junk.

Any website already have the lyrics for ANTICS transcribed?

thanks

I've been listening to this since june, and yeah, it does take a few rotations to sink in, definately good, like how they did something new and didnt stick to the same formula that won everyone over on TOTBL.

Same here, guess I gotta wait until Saturday. I don't know if they just didn't stock many or it really was that popular of a CD on Tuesday.

i think best buy underestimated the demand for this release. they were down to 3 copies when i picked mine up today.

really enjoying it so far. there's a newly recorded version of "song seven" that you can download via the opendisc web access that's a nice bonus.
