80s Cover Bands-Beware!

More or less to help out a friend, I went to see an 80s cover band who was well noted in the Knoxville area. There was a line around the block for the club where they were playing, so I figured they must be pretty good to draw this many.
Let me be honest in saying, they reaked. The lead singer opened the show with a "Shut the Fuck up!" line. While I am sure it was a joke and got some applause, I didn't feel it was appropriate. Their covers were less than stellar, and the audience was totally immature. If the girl and I was with didn't share my sense of sarcasm towards the whole thing, it would have been miserable.
I guess the moral of the story is, if someone asks you to go a see band that only covers 80s music, stay away. Just sit back at home and crank up the one hit wonders on your mp3 player of 80s CD collection.

Guess I'm bad at reading between the lines cuz I didn't see what band they were covering.

There is a kick-ass '70s/'80s cover band that plays the Chicago 'burbs. Tight, professional band, almost perfect covers. So I guess my point is, if someone asks you to go a see band that only covers 80s music, go ahead and go, you'll probably enjoy it.

Several. I didn't mean to generalize, I meant to say to approach the band with caution, which I guess could be said about many cover bands.

Guess I was thinking tribute bands that specialize with one group.
