now this was how my mom saw it. they sound alot like them, and the music is half way decent without the rapping (i guess she heard "roses") so should i try to check chicago out, or is my mom a little nuts with that comparison. (this is chicago, the classic rock band)

Erm, I think yr ma is crazy. The only time I've ever liked Chicago was when Stella (comedy troupe) used "Saturday in the Park" as the basis for a skit. Perfect.

Well, IMO, Chicago was pretty good up 'til [and including] 17.
But, no, they don't sound alike..

my mom told me the song was "i like the way you move" (the chorus), sounds a little like the chicago song "saturday in the park"

Not sure, the only Outkast I've heard is Hey Ya, and I like that. And I'm also a fan of the old harder Chicago.
I just went to Yahoo's Launch and listened to Roses. It sounds nothing like Chicago, but I can see where your Mom is coming from. Find some of Chicago's older stuff and give it a spin.
