Comparing 3 Electric Guitars: Opinions?

I disagree (respectfully) with thismeansyou85. Electric is about 10,000 times more fun than electic and its is easier to get started on. I had an acoustic guitar for years and never really got into playing until I pluged into a strat. It is like magic.
ALSO...the pawn shop can be your best friend when picking up a great guitar to learn on. You can pick something up that is more likely to grow with you for a great price. There are a couple of older Japanese Squires (top notch workmanship) at a shop I frequent that would be great and those kind of deals can be found faily easily. GOOD LUCK and JAM ON!!!

I do think a beginner learning on acoustic will generally be technically better than a beginner learning on electric, especially if they don't have a teacher. I was the total opposite of you - i started on a squier strat and only felt i was really developing when i played acoustic. I guess its just different strokes for different folks, and if everything you want to play is electric, then go electric.
But I can definitely say that once i started playing acoustic and went back to electric, my chords were a lot cleaner and more sustained, and there was less string noise. I just sounded more "professional." You also get to develop a bit of fingerstyle.

Good advice from both of you. While I believe you're probably right about the acoustic, I don't know if that would work for me. I've never been one for the "sound" of acoustic guitar. But electric I love.
I'm definately going to check out my local pawn shops. I hadn't even thought of that. So I should be all right so long as I find a guitar by Squier, Ibanez, Washburn, etc, then, I suppose...?
