So, Bjork is working on a new cd and...

Dokaka "The Japanese beatbox" has been added to the list of collaborators. Think Bobby McFerrin...only way out there. ;)

You gotta hear this guy's stuff....it's....well...different. I guess it kinda grows on you after a looong listening session and his choice of music to cover is truly diverse. Anyone familiar with Bjork realizes her decision to pick him is "So Bjork" :D and mind you, I have no doubt Bjork's cd will use him in a creative and positive way.

Songs I suggest you check out under "works":

Iron Maiden..."The Trooper"
Slayer..."Angel of Death"
King Crimson..."21st Century Schizoid Man"

There are many others but these are wild.

Hollowgen 04-21-04 02:28 PM

when clicking on the thread link, i thought your message would contain information about 20 new boxed sets and 5 different versions of this "new" album.

in any case, great! can't wait to hear a whole album of new stuff.

This stuff is amazing. Some of it's hilarious, but some of it is just awesome.

That's what I'm sayin' man! Leave it to Bjork to introduce a talent like Dokaka to a new audience.

Lara Means 04-21-04 09:56 PM

Hopefully Bjork will go on a big tour for the new album.

Ralph Wiggum 04-21-04 11:53 PM

According to a brief Rolling Stone article about "Medulla":

Following Medulla's release, Björk will continue working in the studio rather than go on tour. "Every album I've done, the minute that it's done, I feel really lubricated ( ) and, like, 'Wow, now I can write an album in five minutes'", she says. "And I just want to find out if that's just a fantasy or if it's true."

Ralph Wiggum 07-19-04 06:22 AM

The "instruments are so over" line from the Rolling Stone article is curious, to say the least. :D

It's been far too long since Vespertine.

TripWire 07-19-04 08:14 AM

the song "Triumph of a Heart" has been leaked, should be able to find it around...

cdollaz 07-19-04 12:02 PM

I hope this one is a little more peppy than the last.

really? I thought Vespertine was dreamy and deep. A cd best heard with good headsets and in a dark comfortable room. I remember going to the beach late one night and playing it with the car windows open and the ocean in the background.

But who knows. Based on the interviews I've seen she apparently gets musically bored quickly so this new one may be a whole new sound.

This is what I like about her...every album she makes is different in some way...seems to always try new things. Her live stuff is great too because she deviates from what is recorded. There is nothing boring about her...that's for sure.

As long as it doesn't have Bob Costas TALKING over every song on it, everything should be just fine.....
