I just heard some of the new Alanis Morrissette CD
I guess it comes out May 18th. There were 4 of the songs on my latest Music Poll CD. I'm not really a fan of hers, but not too bad sounding. The songs by her were:
Alanis Morrissette, "8 Easy Steps"
Alanis Morrissette, "Excuses"
Alanis Morrissette, "Not All Me"
Alanis Morrissette, "Out is Through"
Alanis Morrissette, "8 Easy Steps"
Alanis Morrissette, "Excuses"
Alanis Morrissette, "Not All Me"
Alanis Morrissette, "Out is Through"

Looking forward to the CD. ITunes has a new single up, called Everything, and its been getting airplay on the radio stations here.
Pretty good song. Can't wait to hear the rest of the album.

I'm very much looking forward to getting this, but I have two complaints.
First, only 10 songs. Some would argue that too many albums have 15 songs most of which are crap/filler, but if Alanis didn't want any filler, maybe she could have added some mixes or live tracks.
Also, Everything, the first single, is an extremely catchy pop tune if you hear it on the radio, but it has different lyrics on the album version. She has a clean version and the cd version. Well, after over a month of only being able to hear the clean version, where the entire first part of the song is changed, I'm going to want that too and it will likely only be available on the cd single, which I'd have to pay more for after the $15.99 or so for the 10 songs.
She must have known she was going to be releasing the clean version to radio and VH1, so why not include it on the album, so people could have both versions?
I keep waiting, hoping to hear some news on Fiona Apple's new cd, but still nothing.

I'm very much looking forward to the new album, although I have a feeling it won't measure up to the intensity shown on "Feast on Scraps". "Sister Blister" was the best song I've heard from her in many years, and I was hoping she'll continue in that direction, but from what I've heard so far of the new album, that's not the case.
