Today's CDs (Apr. 7 - 9...)

Franz Ferdinand - s/t
Built To Spill - Ancient Melodies of the Future
moe. - Dither
Bad Plus - These Are the Vistas

I would be listening to the new TMBG EP, Indestructible Object, but the local store didn't have it yesterday. Curses. Picked up the Franz Ferdinand -- I like it, but I think I need to listen to it a couple more times before deciding if I really like it.

Question of the Day: What's your favorite (separately-released) EP? As for me, I tend to buy complete albums, so I don't have many EPs or other non-album CDs. I always thought Matthew Sweet's Son of Altered Beast was really good -- different versions of songs from Altered Beast, live cuts, rare tracks.

Eternal Sunshine... OST
My Bloody Valentine, Loveless
The Chromatics, Plaster Hounds
Jolie Holland, Escondida
of Montreal, Satanic Panic in the Attic
Modest Mouse, Good News For People Who Love Bad News
Tortoise, It's All Around You
Devendra Banhart, Rejoicing in the Hands

My favorite EP is Les Savy Fav's ROME (written upside down). It has their most memorable songs (which is notable in light of their live show) and is just long enough to make you say "f'yeah!" But I don't really buy many EPs...only 3 or 4. I don't really count the SYR (Sonic Youth) releases as EPs. They're an entirely separate project.

That's interesting...I'm a huge LSF fan, but could never really get into that EP other than "In These Woods." My pick is probably Mogwai's "EP + 2," which blows their albums away (in my opinion).

Recent Spins:
Les Savy Fav - "Inches" (half great, half meh)
Low - "Things We Lost in the Fire"
Lungfish - "Love is Love"
John Cale - "Fear"

Forgot about this one...excellent EP.

Bought a few more discs today that I'll be listening to throughout the week...

Trey Anastasio - Seis de Mayo
Modest Mouse - The Lonesome Crowded West
Modest Mouse - Everywhere and His Nasty Parlour Tricks
Ugly Cassanova - Sharpen Your Teeth

(Yeah, I'm just rediscovering Modest Mouse and am now picking up everything I didn't have...)
