Suggest a grip of Techno songs for me...

Okay, I'm making a new workout mix and I want it to be all techno. What are some songs you guys recommend? I'm lost here, I think there are so many different times of techno.

Any particular songs by those artists you listed which are good, or are they all good?

I'll have to take a look, off of the top of my head I have no idea. I downloaded a bunch, thought they were cool and used it actually as my Tae-bo workout music. I'll see what I can come up with.

Those are all house/anthem tunes, not techno.

I suggest you go to www.amazon.co.uk and order a best house [blah] [blah] [year] compilation album. If that doesn't work, get whatever Global underground, Gatecrasher, Ministry of Sound, Ibiza, Love parade, etc. compilation until you figure out what you like.

OK, I feel a little guily for my last post, so I'll try to be helpful, cause lets face it. As much as I hate the McCheese choonz of Electronic Dance Music, its also what got me interested in the genre.

Try this playlist:
Dj Sammy - Heaven
Lasgo - Something
Energy 52 - Cafe Del mar
Rank 1 - Airwave
Gouryella - Gouryella
Bedrock - Heaven Scent
Motorcycle - As the Rush Comes
Andain - Beautyful things
Paul Oakenfold - Southern Sun
Blank and Jones - Cream
Delerium - After All
Zombie Nation - Kernkraft
Flutlicht - Icarus
Transa - Enervate
PVD - For an angel
Ayla - Ayla part II
System F - Exhale
Three drives on a vinyl - Greece 2000
ATB (Miss Jane, actually) - Its a fine Day

Listen to those, and tell me what you like, or even better yet, tell me whose remixes of those songs you like, and I'll try to guide you to similar songs without predictable breakdowns and huge synths, etc, tell you all the pseudonyms that that artists uses, and I'll keep the genre whoring to a minimum.

Good Luck

RoQuEr,

I'm definately a n00b. Yeah, I heard a few of these songs at a house party and thought they were great. I'm now learning that there are so many different subcategories of this sort of music. House, techno, happy hardcore, etc, etc.

I'll definately check out amazon.com/amazon.co.uk and check out those titles. It should get me off to a good start.

EDIT: Thanks so much for those suggestions! I appreciate it. (appreciate for everyone else too!).
