Wasen't there a song called Butterfly Kisses a couple years ago? GAD what a GAY & AWFUL song that was, but it could be appropriate in this situation.
Personally I would pick:
"When the Bodies hit the Floor" by Drowing Pool or anything from The Crystal Method.

You're doing what I always wanted to do, but never did. Very cool for you.
Now my daughter's 12 and it's a little late for that - oh well.
Anyway, I always thought Marshall Crenshaw's Someday, Someway would be a good theme [that's the one I was going to use originally].
And yes, that lame Butterfly Kisses song WILL make you, as a dad of a girl, well up uncontrollably at some point (though maybe not just yet). Sad, but true.

" if you don't mind I'm only gonna kiss you on the cheek this time."
When I first heard that song me and my girlfriend just burst out laughing at that line because it is just SOOOO wrong sounding. I understand the intention of the line, but wow. I would have wrote it a little different

-"I'm a Little Airplane" by Jonathan Richman & the Modern Lovers - good if you have shots of her pretending to be an airplane, duh.
-"My Very Own Angel" by the Free Design - that one'll get the tears flowing.
-also, the beginning of "Come Softly To Me" by the Fleetwoods is always good for any baby footage.
-"Over the Rainbow" by Negativland - no, really, it's a cute cover, you just have to hear it.
-any instrumental by Buck Owens and the Buckaroos - if you have footage of her dancing then "Country Polka" will probably suit it nicely.
-"Lullaby" by Moondog; my kids love it, but it may be too esoteric for older folks. Same with "Merched Yn Neud Gwallt Eu Gilydd" by Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, which has this great chorus - "cuz we ain't got school in the morning, no, no, no" - that gets pre-schoolers moshing.
Good luck, HTH.
