i don't know any of the artists sans johnny cash, but im in. first soundtrack was great.

You don't know who Ennio Morricone is? He did the scoring for the entire Dollars trilogy (inc. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly) an at least a dozen other American movies!!

Morricone scored one of the most familiar tunes in Vol-1, Death Rides a Horse.

Odd how that track didn't make it into the Vol-1 sndtrk, but 3 of his compositions are in Vol-2.

From what I have read, Vol-2 is more of a Spaghetti Western with Vol-1 being the Hong Kong homage. It would make sense for Morricone to have some tracks if that is the case.

Anyone thinks there's a chance they'll release a two-pack?

just a guess, but sure why not? you would think they would, generally in trilogy's or mutli-volume films they do.

This is also the first film where Quentin Tarantino actually utilizes an original score (composed by his friend Robert Rodriguez). Tarantino's school of thought was that having someone compose music for his film was akin to losing control of the film.

I'm not expecting to hear a whole lot of original music, however. The RZA created one brief piece of original music in Vol-1 (Called "Crane") while everything else heard in the movie were scores taken from other films or songs from various artists.

And judging from the track list above, it looks like the tradition is gonna continue.

Quentin's next film, the WWII movie, might be another story.

When I saw him at the American Cinematheque he said he would probably use pop songs, just like in his other movies.

Anyone know about the Meiko Kaji song? (her song from Lady Snowblood was on the first Kill Bill soundtrack). I know that she sang the theme song for the Female Convict Scorpion films that she starred in, and was wondering if the song on this soundtrack is that song.

Very nice to see more Morricone music on this, but a Malcolm McLaren song seems like an off the wall choice.

Got it yesterday along with the DVD. Have not listened to it yet.

Okay, I just put it in and I am loving it so far. I've never heard Shivaree before and now I plan on buying their albums based on this one song. QT always gets me buying new music!

Just finished it. I love it. It doesn't get me as psyched up as the Vol. 1 soundtrack which I will have to give the edge to, but some of the songs on here have a certain degree of haunting to them. I saw the film already so I know where some of the tracks were used, but I was able to concentrate more on them now without the distraction of the film. A Silhouette of Doom by Ennio Morricone is just so damn cool. In the end, this a great collection which will be replayed over and over again by me, but I think Vol. 1 is the better of the two (if only for Battle Without Honor or Humanity).

I loved the second soundtrack more then the first and it's all due in part to the many Ennio songs on it. I was hoping for more Hong Kong tracks on the first one and was left a little let down by the lack of some of the cooler ones (death rides a horse) and had to work fairly hard at making a "bootleg" version with all the omitted songs. This sound track has a few misses, but over all has so many great sounding tracks that mixed in with the film just work well.

The hidden track at the end is actually a Wu Tang track (featuring Ol Dirty, Masta Killa, and the Rza) called Black Mamba. I loved the first album, and I'm liking this one a lot as well. With the diversity of all the sounds and genres, these albums, suprisingly, flow almost perfectly.

Is there anywahere online where I can find that Wu Tang Clan track?

Something I noticed is that track 6, is not "MOTORCYCLE CIRCUS", but Summertime Killer, by Luis Bacalov

PLEEEASE tell me that the final 10 seconds of that song makes it into the movie. The point where the wailing vocal comes in just gives me a rush.

I am not sure, Mondo. The music is used during the black and white teaser you might have seen on TV where she is driving the car and talking about how she will Kill Bill. This starts off the film but I don't think it went on for as long as the song is.

Aw dang. Quentin's soundtracks (Or even most soundtracks in general) often have their songs in chronological order as the films do, and I was expecting to hear "Silhouette" to be playing somewhere around The Bride/Elle fight. Oh well, looks like I'll have to rely on another surprise like he gave me in Vol-1.

I picked this up yesterday as well when I got the DVD for Part 1. Looking at a track list I would never consider buying it, but, after seeing the first movie I grabbed the soundtrack and liked it a lot, so the second soundtrack was no question. And having listened to it a couple of times I like it just as much. As someone above pointed out, it is just a strange eclectic mix of different sounds and genres, but it flows so well that you would never know that those songs don't belong together. Well done QT!
