Yeah Yeah Yeahs live?
The Yeah Yeah Yeahs are coming here tomorrow night for $12.
I was thinking about going as I liked both Mystery Girl and Maps, but these are the only songs I heard. I also heard a song from the EP "Art Star" but the screaming got annoying.
Anyway, anyone see them live? How were they?

Saw them in DC last winter and it was a great show. Karen O is a good front-woman and the band's massive studio sound translates well in a live setting. $12 is a great price.

I guess I'll be the lone dissenter here. I saw them last summer at the 'FNX show in Boston, and thought they were terrible. All Karen O. did was scream through the whole show, mostly off-key. It was like an ice-pick going right into my brain. Couldn't wait for them to be over, spent most of their set at the bar trying to block it out.
After the good things I had heard about them beforehand, I couldn't believe show awful they turned out to be...

I saw them open up for the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion over a year ago. I didn't like 'em for the same reasons Alanstar mentioned. The biggest compliment I can give them is that they were a better live act than the other opener (the Liars).

Well, I went last night and I thought they were great.
Good high energy show. She is definitely a rock star personality, but their music probably isn't accessible enough to the masses for them to ever hit it big.
My only complaint would be that it seemed like the mic volume was a little low, but it was a great show.
Afterward bought the CD for $10, and it is very very good. Anyone now considering to see them should do it. highly recommended... especially for the price.
BTW, their opening act was called sscion and they were kind of cool too. They were 3 people dressed in weird costumes and singing to a projector and music over the PA. It was kinda cool.

Sscion is soooo cool. I only know one song -"Who's Your Favorite, Baby"- but it was on my top singles list last year.

If there is anyone still interested in this thread...
As I mentioned in my previous post, I bought the new CD a couple of days ago at Best Buy for $10, and I must say that it is probably the best CD I have bought in a while.
I thought the EP was good, but not great, but this CD is excellent. For the price, I highly recommend it.
