I can't place this sample

Right now I'm watching Enter the Dragon for the first time in many many years and my ears perked up when part of the score played. I know that I've heard an artist sample it, I just can't place it. It's just a guitar playing a few notes. I don't know if it was in a hip-hop song or trip-hop or whatever (it does sound rather Portishead-y).

I looked on Amazon for a link to a Real Audio file to help y'all out, but the soundtrack for the movie is an import, thus no sound file. I don't know if it is the movie's main theme, but it could be as it is repeated periodically.

This is buggin' the heck out of me. What song used this sample?!

How far into the movie is it? I'll watch it when I get home and see if I can figure it out.

Honestly, I don't know. It was on HBO/Cinemax and I had it playing while I was doing some schoolwork. My ears perked up when I heard it. It plays several times throughout the movie, though. That's why I think it may be the "theme." The guitar is almost James Bond-ian. Thanks for the help - it's driving me batty.

I found sound clips!

Track #7 ("The Human Fly") is what caught my attention. But there's a variation on the theme in track #2 ("Sampans"). Hope that helps.

track 7 kind of sounds like the very opening of the Shakira song "whenever, whereever"

Dr. Dre sampled the guitar riff for "Human Fly" on a track he did. Problem is I forgot what the track was called.
I coulda swore it appeared on his "Aftermath" album, but I just went through the samples and didn't find anything. Maybe it was a single for a soundtrack that he did sometime between '97-'00.

That's the one I had in mind. Thanks. We'll see if that's the same one that DJLinus is after.

Thanks for the help, guys. Turns out that the song I was thinking of was "Let It Out" by Tha Alkaholiks. I'd never heard the Dr. Dre/Scarface song before, but just listened to it - pretty cool. Also, I went through some of my hip-hop CDs and I found that the sample was also used in "Gravel Pit" by the Wu-Tang Clan.

That site is pretty cool. I've always thought that a comprehensive listing of samples would be useful. If anyone's interested this site gives a mind-boggling listing of songs that have sampled dialogue from movies.
