With a few notable exceptions (Black Label, Lamb of God) that is a totally unappealing lineup in my eyes. I think I'll be skipping Ozzfest this year.

this freakin blows. I'm 34 and a big Priest fan. (their last tour with Ripper was out of this world) I can't go to this madhouse just to see a handfull of Priest tunes. Since I really hate metal (only like Priest cause I grew up with it)
Having said that, i'll wait to see what their set list is. If they have a good list, I might go.
And I can gurarntee 4 songs of Painkiller.

I'm a Slayer fan and I've seen them several times live. But to be honest many of the fans are EVIL. Not just obnoxious fans......EVIL

I totally agree with Scorpio, this is the best Ozzfest in a long time. Dimmu Borgir alone should make you want to go get tickets. Only thing that is missing from the lineup is Iron Maiden.

The only bands in this lineup that I would really be excited about seeing is Slayer and Dimmu Borgir.

Ozzfest: what's the buzz this year?
I am thinking about taking some vacation time and going to Ozzxfest this year as it is supposed to be the Black Sabbath reunion. However, I have heard rumors that suggest otherwise.
Anyone ever been, and if so how is it?

Be prepared for lots and lots of really drunk people, although you could say that about most concerts. Also lots of hilarious wardrobes furnished by Hot Topic. Musically, this is one of-if not the strongest lineup Ozzfest has ever had. You've got the original Sabbath (from what I've heard it's official), reunited Priest, SLAYER, etc.... nuff said.

Ozzfest 2004 headliners announced
At one point it looked as if Bill Ward, Sabbath's original drummer, would not be present. After some debate it looks as if he may have agreed to the deal that Sharon offered him....

Black Sabbath
Judas Priest
Slayer
Dimmu Borgir
Lamb of God
Lacuna Coil
God Forbid
Slipknot
Hatebreed
The rest I either don't care too much about or I've never heard of them.
My dream Ozzfest lineup would be: Sabbath, Priest, Maiden, Slayer, Iced Earth, In Flames, Old School Metallica, Shadows Fall and Opeth.

Ozzfest 2004 reviews?
Sabbath are the kings of metal and music period.
A great show last night at the Shoreline in Mountain View.
Priest, Slayer, Hatebreed, superjoint, and BLS.
How can you top that?

For those who have been curious about Priest eventually doing their own tour:
All members of Priest were on Headbanger's Ball this last week (I think it replays on Tuesday night...so if my TiVo's not working overtime on me I'll listen again to confirm this) and I believe Halford said that their performance on Ozzfest will be strictly previously released stuff (they're hoping to complete their new album before year's end) and pretty much a greatest hits performance. Then they'll return home and finish up on the new album, and then begin a new tour that they'll headline.
He said no new material being done just because of how quickly it'll end up on the internet if they play it at the concert. Again, I'll listen to the replay tonight and see if I can confirm my memory.
I'm STILL debating if I want to go here in S. Florida to Ozzfest.
