There's the multitude of Tori Amos covers

And the Foo Fighters cover of Prince's "Darling Nikki." I lost my MP3 of that when my hard drive fried.

"Shut Out The Light" & Bruce Springsteen
(later released on "Tracks" box set & I believe on the bonus rarities disc of "Essential" compilation).

"Willie Shortt" Mary Chapin Carpenter (on Red, Hot, & County various artists)
"Can't Fight It" Bob Mould (No Alternative various)
"Here Comes the Pain" Juliana Hatfield (This Is Fort Apache)

I think all of these are originals...there are tons of great live versions of previously recorded stuff by Tori Amos, U2, Richard Thompson, & many others...also some fantastic covers (for instance, "The T.B. is Whipping Me" by Wilco w/Syd Straw from the Red, Hot, & Country CD). Just about anything by Gillian Welch & David Rawlings is good, too, whether on soundtracks such as Horse Whisperer, guest spots on Chieftains (Down Old Plank Road), or tribute albums.

There was a non-album B side to Robert Plant's Big Log . Heard it couple times on the radio about 20+ years ago and remember it was pretty good. Called "Fence Post" or something.

The Black Crowes - Title Song
The Black Crowes - Feathers

The Grateful Dead - Wharf Rat - I'm pretty sure this was never done as a studio track.

Yep, great tune.

Well, more unlisted than hidden, as it has a track number.

Iron Maiden - Total Eclipse

It was recorded for Number of the Beast, but didn't make the final cut. It ended up as a single "B-side," and they even played it live a few times. Almost two decades later it ended up ON the remastered version of the album, incorporated as the next to last track. It should have always been included - it is a great song!

That song is starting to grow on me a bit. To me it's still average at best for IM. On one of my Maiden DVDs there is an interview where one of the members (Harris probably) said they realized after they released "Beast" that song should have been on the album instead of Gangland.

I'm addicted to Belle & Sebastian's "Meat & Potatoes".I got it with my download from iTunes of The Life Pursuit as a bonus track so it's almost a direct part of the album for me, though.
