I've always considered Journey to be somewhat of a joke. They were more consistent, I think.... but Fleetwood Mac made three of the best 70's rock albums in a row. I've yet to bump "Rumours" from my top 10 fav rock albums yet. Nothing quite compares to Lindsey Buckingham's cocaine-induced paranoia on "Tusk" either. I love his guitar work. My vote goes for the Mac.

I voted can't decide. I like both groups. I'm a big Lindsey Buckingham fan though. I watched The Dance DVD more than any other music DVD I have. It's great - I actually like Tusk on there better than the studio version.

Oh...my... this isn't even a contest. As time goes by the answer even becomes easier. Fleetwood Mac totally stands the test of time. From the songs to the production to the lyrics. Holy crap.
I'm not sure how anyone could listen to "Tusk" and then "Frontiers" and not do anything but laugh at the genious vs. cheesball-ness. Sorry, don't mean to be harsh, but with plenty of awful 70's/80's bands it seems that Fleetwood was always a bit more interesting and off-kilter... and that earns plenty or merit in my book.
Oh... and it IS in big part because of Lindsay. I recently checked out of the library the 3 CD compilation of Stevie Nicks' called "Enchanted". I could barely find enough good songs to record on one disc. W/out Buckingham there is a serious drop in quality.

Journey rules all - I mean how many video games does Fleetwood Mac have about them? Huh? Oh, right - ZERO!
Seriously, tho - I like 'em both. I think I'd have to give the edge to Journey slightly since Mac got a LOT of radio play as of late. I'm a little worn out on them right now.

Turning Dork-mode on:
Journey DID have a video game, which was fantastic. It was comparable to TRON in that there were 5 separate games, where each band member had to complete a board. All i can remember was that the drummer shot things out of his snare drums to kill spiders!

I never realized Journey was big enough to have a game tailored to them.

It seems that I would choose the early version of Journey....that kicks the sh** out of Fleetwood Mac....
However, I do like both bands....to a certain extent.

Then of course there was the arcade game that came out more or less at the same time, where you had to shoot Space Spiders with a snare drum (amongst other things)

What a bizarre poll. I mean, I can see maybe the Eagles vs. Fleetwood Mac. But Journey? No offense to any Journey fan. But there is simply no comparison. FM all the way.

I will pick the band with the better musicians....JOURNEY...
IMO, Fleetwood Mac was an average band..never got into them..kinda boring if you ask me..
Its music my 65yr old dad listens to..
