LA/OC - New Radio Station!
What was formerly KDL 103.1 (Dance/Club music) is now "Indie 103.1" playing (so far), a wonderful ecclectic mix of music, close to what you might have heard from KROQ 10 years ago.
I read about it in todays Daily Breeze and put it on about an hour ago. So far I've heard: Devo, Nirvana, The Beastie Boys, Bob Marley, B52s, Social Distortion, The Ramones, Brand New, Janes Addiction, Iggy Pop, Atmosphere, Talking Heads, as well as several songs I couldn't indentify (good thing!).
Right now they are broadcasting with no commercials and no DJs!
Check it out. LA may finally have a good radio station again!

I heard this change was coming some time ago. We'll see how it does. For some reason 103.1 changes alot.

I'm really impressed by the '80s stuff they play - Joy Division, Bauhaus, Decendents and a buch more - it's like they raided my CDs.
They'll usually either play a popular song from an obscure band, or an obscure song from a popular band.
But there are a few songs that are sort of stuck in too heavy of a rotation (the cover of "Mad World" from Donnie Darko, for example).

Wow! I've been listening to the Net Feed for about an hour or so and I must say it really does take me back to the early 80's and the KROQ of the yesteryear.
I'm really enjoying the music.
With that said, I give it 6 months to a year before they do something to F*** it all up
