Chicago short review/setlist
I got there a little late so I only saw Moonspell's last two songs. I don't really know them. Lead singer had a cane with a skull on it, interesting. DevilDriver's set - all the songs sounded the same. Lead singer Dez is like 4ft 8. Some boos...one guy had his back turned the entire time and Dez started rippin him. Turns out Mikael was watching this from the balcony and later in the show gave us a short sermon. lol Dez has this rap trying to prove his street cred something like "I listen to everything from John Coltrane to Death Metal.I'm just like you..blue collar working, macaroni and cheese eatin motherf**ckers." Pretty funny when he asked the crowd to give him the finger and everyone happily obliged.
Opeth - fckn magical metal bliss. The House of Blues doesn't like the logo at the back of the stage obscured so we didn't get the huge Opeth backdrop, bummer. I'm hazy this morning, pretty sure this is the order:
Mikael seemed really at ease with the crowd, smiling and joking. At one point he introduced the band members by other band member's names. lol Some guy would yell out the next song before Mikael would introduce it. I'm like "Wow, you can surf the internet, shut the fck up." I was surprised that Per Wiberg who joined them for keyboard duty on the Damnation tour was playing and rockin to pretty much every song.. I wished they could have played longer. I guess the HOB has a curfew when it is an all ages show.
That's it, don't miss this tour.

The Minneapolis show was fricking amazing (as always).
Same set list as Chicago (which is pretty typical for them). It was nice to hear a bunch of stuff they didn't play in the last two tours.
I was really impressed with Moonspell. I had heard them before, but not live. Devil Driver, on the other hand, just left me cold. It's not that they were bad. It's just that they weren't at all unique.
Regardless, it's a great show. If you haven't seen them (Opeth), get out there and do so. They're absolutely amazing live.
