What's The Difference Between The Japanese And American Soundtracks To Kill Bill

According to one of the reviewers on Amazon the Japanese version is complete while the American one is missing some songs. Can anyone confirm this? Also, does the Japanese version have the trailers that are included in the American version?

The Japanese disc doesn't come out until the 16th, so I'm not sure how he knows or thinks there are more tracks. From what I can gather, both the US and UK editions are the same, so I doubt the Japanese release would be any different. Who knows.

Japanese discs usually contain a couple extra songs to weigh out the extra cost in importing them to Japan, so I wouldn't be surprised if there is something extra. All the Japanese discs I've bought (well except one) has had something extra.

People are hoping that it will be similar to the Ghost Dog OST where the US got a bunch of rap songs (some of which weren't even in the movie) and Japan got the sublime score by RZA.

It actually looks like they are gonna be the same even though the American one only advertises 17 songs there is a total of 22 after "hidden tracks" atleast according to cd universe which is the same as the Japanese one unless that too has hidden tracks.

It's out, but it's pretty tough to find right now, at least it was in Vegas. I visited Best Buy, Tower, Virgin Megastore and two local indie shops before finding it at Border's. Everyone else was sold out and said they couldn't keep copies in stock fast enough.

Japan CDs often (but not always) have 1 or more bonus tracks due to the fact that they have the highest retail prices for CDs in the world (around 2300-2500 yen average). Giving the Japanese releases a little something extra helps dissuade consumers from importing a foreign release of the same CD which could end up being cheaper than the overpriced domestic release.

At any rate, I haven't yet heard of the Japan Kill Bill OST CD featuring any bonus tracks, but there were a couple cues in the film that I wish were on the US CD but were not, so maybe we'll luck out.

I have the U.S. version, the track listing is up on Amazon.com. The hidden tracks are just sound effects (lame) and what ticks me off is the Neu! track is edited down to about a minute (the original piece is much longer). Other than that, the CD is pretty good.

Is it just me or does the "Green Hornet" on the CD sound different than the one in the movie? I coulda sworn the one in the movie was a little "harder" (non-acoustic too) - so to speak. Wish I could come up with a better description.

I think the main difference is that tracks 10-15 on the US version are in Black & White, while the Japanese version is in color.

To be honest, I finally saw KILL BILL last Friday and I didn't really hear anything too different that wasn't on this soundtrack, especially coming from The RZA, so I don't know how much more would be on the Japanese Import.

Looks like these 2 songs will be what is exclusive to the Japanese Import.

Actually I copied and pasted the normal amazon.com track listing -- I didn't even think to look at amazon.co.jp -- I did try cdjapan.co.jp, but they don't have a track listing either (I emailed them to see if they know the total number of tracks - haven't heard back yet).

They are on the American disc. Both are very short.

My bad, I thought it was the Japanese Import since I already typed out what the track listing said on the back of the U.S. disc. I just assumed.

What really annoys me is, this soundtrack seems almost impossible to find! I can't find it at any local music stores (admittedly I live in the sticks) and even Amazon is listing it as temporarily unavailable! What's up with that?
