APC wasn't an All Star Band until this last year though.

Really, how loyal was Billy to his bandmates in Smashing Pumpkins? I liked the Pumpkins (up to "Adore" or so), but wasn't it really the Billy Corgan show from the start? Going so far as to record over James Iha and D'arcy with his own playing (on "Siamese Dream", if not other albums as well).

I also hope he gets Jimmy to keep drumming with him.
You should read up on the SP backstory a little bit. D'arcy did not even know how to play bass and James was described as "barely knowing how to play guitar at all". Billy didn't go out and get musicians who knew how to play, he taught them. Gish is mostly Billy (you can clearly tell from the timbre of the instruments), but if he had left them on there, it would have taken 1000 takes. Subsequent albums featured more and more contributions by band members as they became more comfortable with their instruments. He was loyal.
