Wazzup w/ Queens of a Stone Age?

I got their album but am a little worried due to this big Red and Black thing that looks like a pitch fork. Are they into the devil and everything like Marilyn Manson, godsmack, and Rob Zombie. LMK as I dont get down with those kinds of artists. Otherwise they seem to be a solid band.

They are definitely devil-worshipers, big time

So you like the music but will toss the CD because of the cover art? Just listen to the music, read the lyrics, and decide for yourself whether you like them or not.

It's not a pitch fork. It's a tuning fork. An evil tuning fork.

If the cover art actually conveys the implications I am recieving, yea I would. So I guess I will wait for someone to kinda give me more insight on them.

Just do us a favor and don't listen to music at all. None of those artists are "into the devil" as you put it.

John Denver might be right up your alley!

Should it matter? As long as the music is good to you, it shouldn't matter, unless it goes against everything you stand for. A few songs about Satin does not make a band a bunch of devil worshipers, nor does an album cover.

Check out Iron Maiden - # of the Beast

From what your post said, that cover will freak you out. Thing is most all of the album has nothing to do with the devil. The song # of the Beast was about a bad dream, but got slaged by the church as Satin's work. They didn't even bother to look further than the cover or the title of the song. Don't judge an album by it's cover, judge it by it's content, and if you find it against what you beleave, then give it away, or toss it. Don't sell yourself short, give everything a chance, and then decide if it is what is right for you.

He is correct, but songs about satin may make the band a bunch of fashionistas. Be wary.

If you actually purchased the album then it's too late!!

You're on your way to hell because you're supporting
a satanic band.

BTW -- Anyone have the "Go With the Flow" import single??

First and foremost, if it ROCKS, and you DON'T listen to it, then it's a sin. If you are wearing satin while listening to the devil's music, then it's ok.

Seriously though, spooky imagry is nothing new in rock music, and if a scary picture or naughty lyrics are going to keep you from enjoying the god given talents of bands like QOTSA, then I feel for you. Think for yourself, and look past the image and marketing gimmicks used to sell records, focus on what really matters: the MUSIC!

I remember back in high school when cover art by SLAYER and DANZIG used to freak me out. Not that I was religous or anything, it just seemed so damn "evil" to my music exploring self. I eventually over came that fear and got to listen to some damn fine music. I guess the moral of the story is don't take some of the imagery so seriously as 80% of the time the bands don't. The satan thing is so cliche now it's harmless and is used a lot as a rock and roll in-joke.................... or is it??

MUWAHAHAHHAHAH!!!!!!

You know what's sad...when I was a kid, my parents actually thought John Denver was evil b/c he believed that trees had souls. They felt he was a tree worshipper which was satanic, evil, or something.

People need to get over themselves and grow up.

Buddy...go listen to Petra. Well...that was what my parents wanted me to listen to at the time.

Ha Ha....you really need to stop letting your "church" brainwash you. Stop listening to your parents as well.

I respect all others posts and oppinions, but to be honest, i didn't want a lecture of why I should or shouldnt listen to them based on anything other than the question I posed. Some posts were reasonable, some immature, but the beauty of having a musical taste is that fact that each individuals criteria is unique. The music alone is never the sole basis of someones taste, at least it isn't for me. It's obviously a huge factor but in addition to that is their lyrics, the messages (subliminal and candid) that they try to deliver, as well as other factors. Music, just like all art has persuasive methods to them, any who denies it or is unaware of this should look further into all artforms. At the least, artist simply trys to persuade you to be aware of their oppinions. At the most, they try to persuade you to feel as they do. I choose not to listen to music that supports my previously mentioned criteria. You dont have to like it or agree with my oppinion, but for those who are mature and are not insecure with their own beliefs will respect my oppinion.
