Nickelback - Someday

So the new NICKELBACK single came out about a week ago, called SOMEDAY from the forthcoming album THE LONG ROAD (sept. 23). Any thoughts?

I think it's a really decent song, and sounds like another sure fire hit for Nickelback... it does have the simplicity of 'how you remind me' and doesn't quite rock as hard, but I still really like it and can't wait for the new record.

billboard had this to say:

“Expect instant saturation at rock and pop radio, followed by what is likely destined to be the biggest non-rap record of the year. A perfect ear-scorching 10.” - Billboard (8/9/03)

so, any fans out there care to comment on the new single??

Nickelback - The Long Road

A while ago I made a post about the new Nickelback single "Someday"... well, now I've had a chance to listen to the entire new album, THE LONG ROAD, due in stores on September 23.

Billboard said that it was an "ear scorching 10" and I have to agree. This album ROCKS. I've only listened to it a few times and I think it's safe to say that fans will NOT be disappointed. This album rocks like the best Nickelback songs and outdoes much of Silver Side Up (which I thought was also a solid record).

Some of the lyrics are more raw... I really enjoy "Figured You Out" with it's dirty lyrics and great hook... if you're a fan of the band, get ready to love this album... I certainly will be buying this as soon as it's officially released....

It's not nearly as catchy as the other singles from Silver Side up. I'm not a fan of the band though, so I only tolerate what I hear on the radio.

I really haven't listened to the radio in a couple months, but last week I tuned into one station and heard the new single - I'm hooked, and will definitely pick up the CD on the 23rd. It was weird, because at the time I was wondering when I would finally hear new Nickelback, as I thought Silver Side Up was great, and I wanted more...

Nickelback did a free concert in downtown Toronto last night and blew the "roof" off the joint... it was absolutely amazing. With the release date approaching, wanted to bump up this thread to hear what people think...

I picked this up today. Not bad at all. I prefer the rocking songs to the softer mushy tracks. But all in all pretty good. Some excellent riffage on this disc.

That guy can write a single without even thinking at this point, there are like 4 songs that could be huge hits on this thing.

Plus the bonus tracks are great.

Saturday Nights Allright for Fighting
Yanking out my Heart
Learn the Hard Way

I'd give it 3 1/2 out of 5 stars. And my favorite Nickelback CD is "the state" for reference purposes.

Excellent album so far - I've already listened to it about three times completely through and can't find a song that I don't like. BTW for those of you that haven't picked up the CD yet - Wal-Mart is offering a bonus track with a code inside the CD. The bonus track is the acoustic version of "Someday".

Yeah but if you buy at Wal Mart you get the clean version. Assuming there are any vulgarities on this album.

I don't believe that there was anything that needed to be editted so the Wal-Mart version shouldn't have any differences than the version you would pick up at Best Buy or Circuit City.
