311 - Evolver
The new 311 album, EVOLVER comes out tomorrow... it is their 7th record. So, any thoughts on it?
I think the album is very good. It's classic 311 but they also try a few new sounds. It's got a lot of energy and the guitars and drums sound amazingly good...probably better than on most of their other albums... Easily recommended for fans of the band.

I've been a fan since the beginning. I haven't been impressed with their output since the Blue album but Evolver is a renewal. I like it a lot. I'm seeing them live at the Target Center in August. They are usually pretty good live and as long as they don't play much from Transistor I'll be happy.

It's better than "From Chaos" and has some good songs. But it still isn't better than their self-titled album.
Get it before Sunday...it's $9.99 at Circuit City 'til then, I think $11.99 at Best Buy.

311 is teh suckekeke.
I used to have Transistor, Live, and Soundsystem.
Other than Down, most of their songs sound too similar and are really uninspired.
Sorry, just my opinion

I hope to buy the new one here pretty soon. I have both Grassroots, and the self titled album. If you somewhat like the music, but aren't a big fan, give Grassroots a try. Much better than everything else I've heard from them.

I suppose the 311 - Evolver thread I started a few days ago was too far down on the page for you to bother reading huh??? Anyhow,
I'm a big fan of 311, so I may be biased. I think the album is very good. It's got some really good rockers as well as some slow grooves that are pretty damn good. The sound quality is really great and it's probably one of their better albums. I'd say if you like the self titled album and From Chaos, than pick this one up...
and like suggested, if you haven't heard GRASSROOTS...GET IT. It's probably my favourite album of theirs, it rules. If you can get Evolver for 10bucks, I think it's easily worth it!

did anyone buy this yet?? My copy doesn't have the enhanced content for some reason....wondering if this is a screwed up disc or maybe they forgot to put it on the whole run (could be a canadian issue).
