Peter Gabriel SACD Question
Does anyone know if the SACD's of So and the PG 1 through 4 albums contain the remastered version on the normal cd layer?
Here's the links to the so versions.

Remastered version:

TIA.

Unless those are the import versions (and judging by the price, I would say they're not), then these are NOT hybrids. Here in the US, only the newest album, Up, was a hybrid SACD. All the earlier albums are SACD stereo only (no multi-channel). They are from the most recent remasters, and sound great.

This is just a mistake in the listing on Amazon. See the "(SL)" in the listing? That means "single layer," which means there's only one layer, the SACD portion.
Unfortunately, this is quite common with SACD advertising. Best Buy advertised Shaking the Tree as a hybrid in their Sunday sales ad, which it isn't. Worst of all, the SACD of the Police's Synchronicity is labeled a hybrid by the manufacturer, and, yet again, it ain't.
I highly recommend visiting the music section at the Home Theater Forum if you're interested in more SACD topics. Nothing against DVDTalk, there just aren't many SACD discussions here.
