Favorite Music Videos (cool song, cool visuals, etc.)
Just looking for some more interesting vids to check out. Especially looking for ones with slightly weirder visuals -- cool effects, etc.
Some of my current favorites -- great song/vid combinations:
Basement Jaxx -- Where's Your Head At? -- the song fits soooo well -- and everyone loves seeing monkeys with mad mixing skills
Muse -- Bliss -- love that piano. Any Muse video is good stuff.
Linkin Park -- Points of Authority (Jay Gordon Remix) -- got that Halo/Final Fantasy the Movie mixup feeling going.
Lee Jung Hyun -- Let's Go to My Star -- Korean techno singer has some really great videos.
Unkle -- Rabbit in Your Headlights -- Easily one of my favorite videos ever. The whole idea is just great.
Plenty of other good ones too. There are some great 80's ones like Tom Petty -- Don't Come Around Here No More -- and the like, but half the ones I remember seeing on MTV Classic - I can't remember the names of at all.
Anyone else have any good suggestions?

Tool videos are amazing!
If you haven't seen them, you're definitely missing out. Very dark and oft times even grotesque, but amazing nonetheless.

I always like to see "Heal the World". It is nice to see innocent faces reflected in the candle lights.
Edit for additional:
I've just seen the clip of Gareth Gates and Will Young singing "Long & Winding Road". I like it. The camera shot their figures from a distance, moving closer and closer .. until it stopped at a side angle. The way it makes me stay focus on their voice, and on the song that sounds so beautiful.

I'll repost from that thread, before the merge/lock/whatever.
I won't mention any of the excellent choices already mentioned. I will point out, though, that it takes more than just beauty to make a video good: in my opinion, it has to be watchable over and over. The ones I'm listing may not be the technically or aesthetically best, but they're five of my faves.
No particular order:
1. Outside of America, Michael Jackson's video for "Smooth Criminal" consisted of that scene taken straight from Moonwalker.
Jackson's videos were always good, but I did like that one a bit more than the others.
B. Gorillaz - "Clint Eastwood". I've got this vid on CD-Roma AND two DVDs - didn't plan it that way, but I don't complain when it comes on.
It has excellent animation, it's very fun, and begins with a Dawn Of The Dead quote - what's not to like?
III. I hate to pick two animated videos in a row, but U2's "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me" is fabulous.
It edges out "Faraway, So Close" by just a tad.
- - No-one's mentioned "Buddy Holly" by Weezer yet?
Amazing!
e. Of course...
"Clearly I remember, picking on the boy..."
Such a disturbing video.
Wow, I picked five videos that had nothing to do with Romanek, Gondry or Fincher. Oh wait, I have a Jonze. Ah well.

When I read the title to this thread Ashanti's new video for Rock Wit U immediately popped into mind, but as I read the replies it doesn't look like that's the type of video you want. But, it is my favorite video at the moment, can't watch it enough. Great song, hot chick. Doesn't get much better.

I always gotta give a nod to Faith No More's Epic.
But Pearl Jam (Jeremy), Weezer (buddy Holly) and most Tool videos would top my list. I also love Weezer's Gone Fishin' video. Gotta love the muppets.

Bjork's "All is Full of Love". When I first saw that video on MTV2 a couple of years back, I remember it creeped me out. But then again the visuals and everything about the vid was great!!

Aphex Twin - Windowlicker (just amazing)
Madonna - Bedtime Stories (Romanek at his best)
Vogue and Express yourself done by David Fincher
Mark Romanek is awesome (NIN perfect drug, lenny krazits are you gonna go my way....very well shot)
Tool's Sober and Prison Sex videos are awesome.....I don't care for the others that much.
There was the amazing video that has Thom York from radiohead singing the chourus....it's this guy with no shirt walking in a tunnel getting hit by a car.....getting up, walking again..repeat until the climatic end when he puts his arms out right before this car hits him and the car explodes in slo-mo and the dude doesn't even move............anyone know what song this is?

Sigur Rós - Untitled #1 from ( ).
I highly recommend it. It is by far the most emotionally touching music video combined with music I have ever seen.
Their website, http://www.sigur-ros.co.uk has a media page which purports to have the video downloadable.
Here are the links to the high quality version (I am not sure if it is the complete video, though I believe it is):
High Quality RealAudio version
or
High Quality WM version.
They also have a low quality version. This video is just so stunning, and sad. I can't get enough of it, or of their other music. Sure, it borders on weird, but it also has deep emotional connections.
