"Cosmo's Factory" by Creedence Clearwater Revival
They had great albums, and had great songs, and there isn't anything around that matches that unique sound of John Fogerty.
Cosmo's Factory from 1970 had the greatest collection of songs out of all their albums, but they (or Fantasy Records) wound up cheating themselves. See if you'll agree:
The album yielded the #2 hit Travelin' Band, the #4 hit Up Around The Bend, and the #2 hit Lookin' Out My Back Door, and they were backed by the album's other strong songs (as B-sides) as opposed to reserving them for additional singles. Who'll Stop The Rain, Run Through The Jungle, and Long As I Can See The Light were B-sides to the above singles, and although the strength of the A-sides were supported heavily by the B-sides, which may explain the success of both the singles and the album itself (it is their #1 best seller), I wonder what would have been if they had released the B-sides as A-sides and filled the B-sides with the album's bluey material.
