Clapton fans, are these good choices for just the hits?

I've been a big fan of EC for a long time. I have 39 of his CDs including Soundtracks and going back to Delaney and Bonnie. He's had a few not so great CDs. I've seen him twice. The first concert was, to say the least amazing! Unfortunately the second time around he chose to do songs from his Pilgrim CD which was a real let down. I'd definately go see him again given the chance.

I listen to Clapton more than any other band, and I have to say, Clapton Chronicles is horrible. Its the worst 'best of' ever, unless you like his horrible 80s misstep. Cream of Clapton was the first CD I got, and its a great starting place. Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs is a must have. It may as well be a greatest hits album.
To answer an earlier question, the Crossroads set from Cream of Clapton is the live cream version.
If you really enjoy his Cream days, Wheels of Fire is a pretty good album.
If you're into his pure blues side, definitly check out Riding with the King.
Finally, be on the look out for a release of his Crossroads Benefit Concert in Dallas. I havent heard anything official, but they'd be stupid not to release this. It was an amazing concert.
