Is Scott Weiland back on the Horse?

Arrest No. 3 For STP Singer

The lead singer of the band Stone Temple Pilots has been arrested for investigation of drug possession.

Scott Weiland was arrested near Los Angeles early yesterday, and released several hours later on $10,000 bail.

Police in Burbank, Calif., say officers stopped Weiland because he was driving without his lights on. They allege he had narcotics in the car -- but haven't said what kind.

Weiland has been arrested in the past for investigation of cocaine and heroin possession. He went to jail in 1999 after violating his probation and failing to complete drug rehabilitation programs.

In 2001, he was arrested on a charge of domestic battery after a fight with his wife at a Las Vegas hotel. The judge agreed to dismiss the charges as long as Weiland underwent counseling.

And why would Slash & Co. choose him over some of the other singers. It seems like they want somebody that is as high maintenence as Axl.

Layne Staley II. He'll probably be dead in a couple of years.

I'm good friends with a good friend of Weiland and I've met him a few times. He's a really cool guy and all, but he hasn't been on the wagon...well, ever. He's not just into heroin, by the way.

I don't mean to spread rumor or innuendo, but Weiland needs to get some effective help and soon.

I saw STP on the Family Values Tour with Staind and Linkin Park. They put on a very good concert. It was right after Weiland supposedly got cleaned up. I thought he was headed in the right direction at the time. I was hoping the GnR thing would work out, but it does not look good.

I immediatley thought the same thing. Ever since I saw the video with Sarah Michelle Gellar, I knew it was over. This is just 'icying' on the cake. Goodbye STP.

Damn, that sucks. I had hoped he'd stay clean.

Unlike you guys, I loved the last 2 albums and they were great live when I saw them a few years ago on the tour for 4.

they're the greatest live band in the world and their last two albums are their best. No.4 went platinum but shangra la didn't do too well. just because they don't sell millions of records dont' mean ****. Nsync sells millions does that mean you love them. like it or not weiland, vedder, cornell are the best songwriters out there since staley and cobain are gone. that says alot about the bands of the nineties that revolutionized rockn'roll.

I really hope that it works out with Weiland and the old GNR boys. All these guys are so incredibly talented, it'd be interesting to see what they come up with. Even though I love his voice, I'm thankful that they didn't pick Sabastian Bach for their new singer. He has too much of a classic 80's band voice. Weiland has a more modern singing style and would definitely appeal to a wider audience. Come on Scott, get your **** together!

PS. Mike Patton would have been the best choice.
